Introduction: India is committed to achieving universal health care for all by 2030. The objective of social marketing is to promote public health and its goal is to improve health for all, but there are some challenges like irregular availability, quality issue, inadequacy of marketing causes under- utilization of the government supplied health consumables.

Objectives: Present study aims to find out the usage pattern and assess the perceived satisfaction level of beneficiaries of using various socially marketed health consumables at government settings and explore the perception of healthcare personnel regarding barriers to its usage in a rural area of India.

Investigation of the Association of Acute Pancreatitis Outcomes with Social Vulnerability Indicators.

Background And Aim: Geospatial analyses integrate location-based sociodemographic data, offering a promising approach to investigate the impact of social determinants on acute pancreatitis outcomes. This study aimed to examine the association of Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) and its constituent 16 attributes in 4 domains (socioeconomic status, household composition and disability, minority status and language, and housing type and transportation), with outcomes in patients with acute pancreatitis.

Methods: This study included acute pancreatitis patients hospitalized between 1/1/2008 and 12/31/2021 and recorded their demographics and clinical outcomes.

Efficient production and characterization of melanin from SP1, isolated from the coal mines of Chhattisgarh, India.

In the present study, fungi were isolated and screened from barren land in south-eastern Coalfields limited (SECL) in Chhattisgarh, India. Out of 14 isolated fungi, only three fungal isolates exhibited pigmentation in screening studies. The isolated fungal strain SP1 exhibited the highest pigmentation, which was further utilized for production, purification, and characterization of melanin pigment.

Several clinical manifestations of barotrauma include pneumothorax, subcutaneous emphysema, pneumoperitoneum, pneumomediastinum or pneumopericardium, air embolization, and hyperinflated left lower lobe.

Effects of grape seed proanthocyanidin extract on side effects of high-dose methylprednisolone administration in male rats.

In this study, we investigated the effects of grape seed proanthocyanidin extract (GSPE) against the side effects of high-dose administration of methylprednisolone (MP) in male rats. A total of 32 adult Wistar male albino rats were divided into four groups: (1) control (CON), received standard food only; (2) MP, received standard food + intraperitoneal injection of 60 mg/kg MP on day 7; (3) GSPE, received standard food + 200 mg/kg/day GSPE; and (4) MP + GSPE, received standard food + 200 mg/kg/day of GSPE + intraperitoneal injection of 60 mg/kg MP on day 7. All animals in the GSPE and GSPE + MP groups were treated once a day by oral gavage for 14 consecutive days.

A Microsimulation of Well-Being and Literacy Interventions to Reduce Scam Susceptibility in Older Adults.

Poor financial and health literacy and poor psychological well-being are significant correlates of scam susceptibility in older adults; yet, no research has examined whether interventions that target these factors may effectively reduce susceptibility. Using longitudinal data from older adults in the Rush Memory and Aging Project (MAP) ( = 1,231), we used microsimulations to estimate the causal effect of hypothetical well-being and literacy interventions on scam susceptibility over six years. Japanese quails reared under high stocking density (SD) were evaluated for the effects of grape seed powder (GSP) and meal (GSM) supplementation on performance, blood biochemistry, thigh and breast muscle fatty acids, antioxidant status, and HSP70 gene expression. We randomly assigned 288 (15-day-old) quail chicks to six treatment groups in a factorial design (2 × 3) with four replicates, involving two density levels [160 cm/bird (LD) and 80 cm/bird (HD)] and three feed forms (FFs) [no supplementation, grape seed powder (3% GSP), grape seed meal (3% GSM)]. SD had a significant effect on live weight, but not on weekly feed intake, daily weight gain, and feed conversion ratio.

Background: The aim of this study was to define outcomes after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in lymphoedema and lipoedema patients managed by a multidisciplinary team and daily compression bandaging.

Improvements in diagnostic and therapeutic modalities of antenatal care has meant that the neonatal intensive care units (NICU) need to care for infants with complex congenital conditions who need ongoing care post discharge. This, along with improved survival of the extreme preterm infants, provides the neonatal team with a cohort of infants who require long-standing multi-disciplinary input. However, provision of dedicated teams looking after infants with complex medical needs is not commonly reported in NICU workforce structure.
