In this study, we investigated the physicochemical properties of soil, and the diversity and structure of the soil ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) community, when subjected to fertilizer treatments for over 35 years. We collected soil samples from a black soil fertilization trial in northeast China. Four treatments were tested: no fertilization (CK); manure (M); nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) chemical fertilizer (NPK); and N, P, and K plus M (MNPK).

Previous studies have indicated that microRNA (miR)-210-3p is upregulated in NSCLC, however, the specific mechanism underlying the role of miR-210-3p in NSCLC pathogenesis requires further investigation. The aim of the present study was to explore the roles of miR-210-3p in NSCLC and the associated mechanisms. A total of 30 NSCLC tissues and paired adjacent normal tissues were collected for study.

Outbreak of measles among persons with secondary vaccine failure, China, 2018.

Although the incidence of measles has been dramatically reduced by the highly effective measles vaccine, cases of measles and outbreaks continue to occur in vaccinated population because of immunization failure. We report on an outbreak in which two cases had previous evidence of measles immunity and then one of them transmitted measles infection to an unvaccinated contact. The cases and contacts exposed during the outbreak were investigated.

Previous studies have reported abnormal GnRH expression in several malignant tumors, suggesting that GnRH and its receptor might be essential for tumourigenesis.

Background: Measles-containing vaccine (MCV) was introduced in 1965 in Beijing and given to the children aged 8m-14y. In population-based surveillance system, real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and immunoglobulin M(IgM) serology tests have been conducted for each suspected case since 2013. We used the surveillance data to evaluate the adequacy of the tests for laboratory confirmation during 2014-2016.

Using data of health information system (HIS) of medical institutions to study the incidence and hospitalization of herpes zoster in three districts of Beijing. According to the different level of economic development and geographical features in Beijing, 3 districts of Xicheng, Changping and Miyun were chosen and all 110 medical institutions of the first level and above in the 3 districts are included in the survey. All the outpatient and inpatient herpes zoster cases in 2015 were retrospectively reviewed by HIS system.

Objectives: The study aimed to investigate the involvement of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway in orexin-A/OX1 receptor-induced insulin secretion in rat insulinoma INS-1 cells.

Methods: Rat insulinoma INS-1 cells were grown and treated with various concentrations of orexin-A, with or without OX1 receptor-selective antagonist SB674042 or the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/mTOR antagonist PF-04691502. Insulin release experiments, Western blot analysis, and statistical analysis were conducted using INS-1 cells.

Interesting Gross Case Workshop to Remedy Disconnect in Surgical Pathology Curriculum.

Introduction: This workshop was created by pathologists' assistants (PAs) who undertake specialized training programs heavily focused on grossing, which is the macroscopic inspection, evaluation, and sampling of pathology specimens for histologic evaluation by a surgical pathologist. Typically, pathologists or their trainees, during training, focus upon microscopic features, with less emphasis on the macroscopic appearance of disease.

Methods: We developed monthly hour-long "interesting gross case workshops" (IGCWs) led by PAs to aid in the process of educating and refining pathology residents' grossing skills and abilities to diagnose at a macroscopic level.

[A preliminary study of a modified transnasal endoscopic three step vidian neurectomy].

The aim of this study is to explore an improved trans-nasal endoscopic surgical approach for vidian neurectomy. Ninety-one patients with nasal hyperreactive disease were collected, including 49 cases of allergic rhinitis and 42 cases of non allergic rhinitis. Novel strategy of sirolimus plus thymalfasin and huaier granule on tumor recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma beyond the UCSF criteria following liver transplantation: A single center experience.

Although liver transplantation (LT) lengthens the survival time of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), LT patients exhibit a high recurrence rate; particularly those that had advanced HCC associated with the tumor biological characteristics and long-term application of immunosuppressants. A consensus on optimal prophylaxis and treatment for recurrent HCC following LT does not currently exist. The present study retrospectively analyzed data from 36 non-University of California at San Francisco criteria-eligible patients with advanced HCC who underwent LT, and then treated them with sirolimus (SRL)-based therapy with thymalfasin and huaier granules (SRL+, n=18), or with tacrolimus-based therapy (controls; n=18).

A retrospective survey on herpes zoster disease burden and characteristics in Beijing, China.

Three light bodies (Affinis [Affi], Silagum [Sila] and Variotime [Vario-LB]) and one extra light body (Viriotime [Vario-ELB]) were prepared with flat surfaces.
