Filler complications have a wide array of presentations including early and late manifestations. A rare late complication is the foreign body granuloma or granulomatous foreign body reaction. We present a case of giant foreign body granulomas developing 7 years after polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) filler injection.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and nasal obstruction are common in the general population and frequently treated by otolaryngologists and facial plastic surgeons. Understanding the appropriate pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of OSA patients undergoing functional nasal surgery is important. OSA patients should be appropriately counseled in the preoperative period on their increased anesthetic risk.

These procedures include lateral nasal wall implants, dermal fillers, thread lifting, and radiofrequency ablation. Though increasingly popular, nasal surgeons have limited data to draw from when faced with operating in a nose that has been altered by these techniques.

Recent trends in management strategies as well as emerging surgical techniques for pediatric orbital fracture repair are presented.
Recent Findings: Although somewhat limited, growing bodies of evidence support a conservative approach with close follow up in pediatric orbital fractures.
Introduction: The incidence of ocular injury associated with maxillofacial trauma remains poorly defined, with reported rates ranging from 0.8% to 92%. Our study aims to more accurately characterize ocular injuries associated with midface fractures.

Orbital fractures are a commonly encountered problem with 7-10% of patients developing delayed enophthalmos when managed conservatively with observation. To characterize the literature regarding incidence of delayed enophthalmos among patients with untreated unilateral isolated orbital wall fractures and determine what factors may predict this untoward outcome. Preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines were adhered to and a literature search was conducted using multiple medical subject headings (MeSH) headings.

Airway, breathing, and circulation are the 3 areas to be addressed first and foremost, as set forth by Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) guidelines. Following the stabilization of the patient, a thorough physical examination and systematic review of any relevant imaging studies are imperative to ensure that injuries are not missed.

Study Design: Prospective randomized case-control study.
Setting: Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education accredited Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency program.
Public health crises require individuals, often volunteers, to help minimize disasters. The COVID-19 pandemic required such activation of individuals, but little is known about medical students' preferences of such engagement. We investigated potential variations in medical students' educational preferences, attitudes, and volunteerism during the COVID-19 pandemic based on socio-demographics to better prepare for future activation scenarios.

Reconstructive techniques of the lateral orbital rim and wall offer a unique challenge due to the structural and aesthetic demands with regard to its natural contour. The authors present a case in which a patient sustained a ballistic injury involving the lateral orbital rim and wall requiring reconstruction.

However, the safety of routinely performing this procedure on an outpatient basis is debated. We aim to assess immediate postoperative complications that would affect a surgeon's decision to perform pediatric cochlear implantation on an outpatient basis.

Study Design: Anatomic feasibility study.
Methods: Five human cadaveric larynges providing 10 CAJ s were used to obtain trajectory measurements of a 27-gauge 1½-inch needle placed between the CAJ capsule and the contralateral cricothyroid membrane.
Unlabelled: Following injury, transfusion of red blood cells (RBCs) of increased storage duration has been associated with an increased morbidity and mortality. Prospective trials focusing on the impact of the storage age of RBCs in severely bleeding trauma patients have failed to accrue patients. This has been attributed to an inability to maintain a large inventory of fresh RBCs, and the difficulties in obtaining consent in severely bleeding trauma patients.
