Geospatial maps can show how the ineffective operations of inactive mines affect water and aquifer quality. As such, the purpose of this study is to assess the impact of mining and irrigation on the aquifer ecosystem through the evaluation of LULC and slope maps through the application of Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS and DEM data. A total of 50 groundwater samples were prepared from villages in the close proximity to inactive mines during pre and post monsoon periods in 2021.

Introduction: Optimization of ultrafiltration during hemodialysis is a critical parameter in achieving therapeutic efficacy and ensuring hemodynamic stability. While various modalities such as blood volume monitoring, inferior vena cava diameter assessment, natriuretic peptide levels, bioimpedance assay, and lung ultrasound have been widely explored in the context of maintenance hemodialysis, the concept of volume-guided ultrafiltration in dialysis patients with acute kidney injury remains unexplored.

Methods: Adult patients with acute kidney injury requiring dialysis, who were hemodynamically stable and not on ventilator support, without underlying lung pathology or cardiac failure, were randomized into two groups.

Objectives: Cerebral microbleeds (MBs) are recently described entity on magnetic resonance (MR) neuroimaging and are considered one of the markers of small vessel disease. We aimed to study the clinicoradiological features of cerebral MBs that were diagnosed in MR neuroimaging.

Materials And Methods: We studied 109 South Indian patients, who presented to a tertiary care institution for MR neuroimaging with cerebral MBs as diagnosed on MR neuroimaging based on either the gradient T2* imaging or susceptibility-weighted imaging.

Atretic cephaloceles (ACs) are congenital skull defects with herniation of rudimentary intracranial structures through the defect and associated with persistent falcine sinus or embryonic positioning of straight sinus. We describe five cases of ACs, out of which only one had embryonic straight sinus. Three cases had other intracranial malformations such as hypoplasia of corpus callosum, dysplastic tectum in one child and parieto-occipital polymicrogyria with falcotentorial dehiscence in the other, and frontal horn deformity and cortical dysplasia in the third.

Modulation by salicylic acid (SA) and its six esters of stomatal closure was evaluated in Arabidopsis thaliana. The seven compounds tested are salicylic acid (SA), acetylsalicylate (ASA), methyl salicylate (MeSA), propyl salicylate (PrSA), amyl salicylate, benzyl salicylate, and salicin. Among these, MeSA was the most effective to induce stomatal closure, followed by salicin and SA, while ASA was the least effective.

The main focus of this study is to evaluate the groundwater quality through drinking water quality index and regression analysis in semi-arid region and the results are examined with reference to the drinking water quality standards laid down by WHO. Water quality index (WQI) was determined from fourteen physicochemical parameters like pH, EC, TDS, total hardness, total alkalinity, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, bromide, nitrate, sulphate and fluoride. The drinking water quality index values range from 32.

The conceptual site model (CSM) has been designed for Inactive/abandoned mines in the SW part of Cuddapah basin, which gives an overview of Inactive/abandoned mine characterization in terms of physical impacts such as vertical openings, dangerous impoundments, location of steep slopes, waste processing facilities, steep portal abandoned barite mine and assessment of groundwater analytical data. To evaluate the groundwater quality and its suitability for domestic, drinking purposes, 44 groundwater samples were collected from the southwestern part of the Cuddapah basin, were examined for major cations and anions. The suitability of groundwater for drinking purposes is assessed by comparing with the World Health Organization (W.

This data article provides the inventory data on sinkhole occurrences for the first time from Proterozoic Cuddapah Basin, India. Unexpected ground subsidence incidents are taking place with ground breaking sounds and forming in the Cuddapah Basin since 2007 and their frequency increasing from 2015 to 2017 (15 sinkholes over night in and around Buggavanka River). Such incidents are creating panic situations in the general public of this area which was not experienced in this region ever before.

Groundwater is a vital resource for most developmental activities. Demand for groundwater is increasing due to paucity of surface water and recurrent failures of monsoons. Increasing demand for groundwater causes water level to decline and water quality to deteriorate.

In recent years control theory has been applied to biological systems with the aim of identifying the minimum set of molecular interactions that can drive the network to a required state. However, in an intra-cellular network it is unclear how control can be achieved in practice. To address this limitation we use viral infection, specifically human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) and hepatitis C virus (HCV), as a paradigm to model control of an infected cell.

Article Synopsis
  • A new series of -butyl 2-(substituted benzamido) phenylcarbamates was synthesized using -butyl 2-amino phenylcarbamate and various substituted carboxylic acids, resulting in high yields.
  • The synthesized compounds were tested for anti-inflammatory activity in rats, showing effectiveness comparable to the standard drug indomethacin, with inhibition rates between 39.021% and 54.239%.
  • In silico docking studies were conducted to support the experimental findings and provide further insights into the compounds' potential as anti-inflammatory agents.
