In order to deal with these challenges, we developed gold nanoparticles coated with Ru(arene)-functionalized PNVP-Py, where PNVP-Py is pyridine end-functionalized poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone). It is demonstrated that these particles exhibit higher anti-proliferative activity than the individual organometallic ruthenium(ii) complex of the type [Ru(η6-p-cymene)(NN)Cl]PF6, where NN is bis(4-methoxyphenylimino)acenaphthene, against colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines.

We performed this study with an objective to comprehensively characterize Indian SLE patients with renal and neuropsychiatric manifestation with respect to their gene signature, cytokine profile and immune cell phenotypes.
Methods: We characterized 68 Indian SLE subjects with diverse clinical profiles and disease activity and tried to identify differentially expressed genes and enriched pathways.
Pierce's disease (PD) of grapevine (Vitis vinifera) is caused by the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa and is vectored by xylem sap-sucking insects, whereas Grapevine Red Blotch Virus (GRBV) causes Red Blotch Disease and is transmitted in the laboratory by alfalfa leafhopper Spissistilus festinus. The significance of anthocyanin accumulations in distinct tissues of grapevine by these pathogens is unknown, but vector feeding preferences and olfactory cues from host anthocyanins may be important for these disease etiologies. Phosphate, sugar, and UV light are known to regulate anthocyanin accumulation via miR828 and Trans-Acting Small-interfering locus4 (TAS4), specifically in grape by production of phased TAS4a/b/c small-interfering RNAs that are differentially expressed and target MYBA5/6/7 transcription factor transcripts for post-transcriptional slicing and antisense-mediated silencing.

Aims And Objectives: To describe the diversity of clinical manifestations, laboratory findings and outcome of scrub typhus in hospitalised patients of Tirumala Hospital, Vizianagaram during 2014-2015.
Material And Methods: All the cases of acute febrile illness diagnosed as scrub typhus were analysed. Diagnosis was based on clinical and serological data.
Three mononuclear, mixed ligand ternary Cu(II) complexes of 3-((Z)-1-(2-hydroxyphenylimino)ethyl)-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one (HEHMP) viz; [Cu-(Phen) (HEHMP)] (), [Cu-(Bpy)(HEHMP)] () and [Cu-Bpy(NCS)(HEHMP)] () were synthesized and characterized by data obtained from various spectral techniques. The binding affinities of these complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) protein were explored by absorption and fluorescence quenching titrations. The results indicated strong affinity of the title compounds to bind with both CT-DNA and BSA.

Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia, also known as Osler-Rendu-Weber disease is a rare autosomal dominant disorder affecting small vessels of multiple systems whose main pathological change is the presence of abnormal arteriovenous communications. Usually presents as skin and mucosal telangiectasias, epistaxis, gastrointestinal bleeding and visceral arteriovenous malformations. Although the epistaxis and gastrointestinal blood loss can result in anaemia, patients with hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia rarely presents as severe anaemia1 or CNS infections.

Aim: To assess the prevalence and severity of dental fluorosis in primary school children born and raised in three villages of Mysore District.
Introduction: Besides dental and skeletal fluorosis, excessive fluoride intake can also affect the central nervous system without first causing the physical deformities associated with skeletal fluorosis. With the existence of widespread endemic fluorosis in India, the possible adverse effect of elevated fluoride in drinking water on the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) level of children is a potentially serious public health problem.

Background And Objectives: Recently, the concept of "psoriatic march" has come to the fore, in which chronic cutaneous inflammation in psoriasis leads to systemic inflammation which, in conjunction with increased oxidative stress, triggers a cascade of events resulting in increased cardiovascular risk in patients with severe psoriasis. We, therefore, decided to study the levels of some biochemical cardiovascular risk markers: lipid peroxidation (malondialdehyde), lipoprotein (a), lipid indices and atherogenic index, in patients with psoriasis and their association with disease severity.
Methods: Forty five patients with psoriasis and 45 age and gender-matched healthy controls were included in this cross-sectional study.
