Objective:  Studies on the effects of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on pregnant mothers and their newborns, specifically in relation to their micronutrient status, fatty acids (FAs), and inflammatory status are sparse. We hypothesized that COVID-19 infection would adversely affect the transfer of nutrients, and FAs from mothers to their fetuses via the umbilical cord and maternal-fetal distribution of inflammatory cells. This study aimed to determine the effect of COVID-19 on micronutrients, inflammatory markers, and FAs profiles in pregnant mothers and their newborns' cord blood.

This paper introduces a compact Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Ultrawideband (UWB) antenna seamlessly integrated with the Ku band, tailored for wireless communication applications. The MIMO antenna employs octagonal radiators, crafted from a tapered microstrip line-fed rectangular patch, etched on an economically efficient FR4 substrate measuring 40 × 23 mm. The octagonal configuration is achieved by introducing a rectangular patch to the central radiator, while parasitic stubs are strategically employed to mitigate coupling among MIMO elements.

This report provides detailed insights into the interaction of fifty monoclonal antibodies with two recent Omicron variants, BA1 and BA2. It has been observed that numerous mutations in the receptor binding domain (RBD) result in significant structural changes in Omicron, enhancing its ability to mediate viral infections compared to other variants of concern. The following antibodies, namely JX3S304, 7KMG, 7CH4, 7BELCOVOX45, 7CDJ, 7C01, 7JX3S2H14, 6XCA, 7CDI, 7JMO, 7B3O, 6ZER, 6XC7CR3022, JX3S309, 6XC7CC123, 7CM4, 7KMI, 7L7EAZD8895, exhibit a superior binding affinity towards the Spike when compared to the reference CR3022.

Notch signaling and its downstream gene target HES1 play a critical role in regulating and maintaining cancer stem cells (CSCs), similar to as they do during embryonic development. Here, we report a unique subclass of Notch-independent Hes-1 (NIHes-1)-expressing CSCs in neuroblastoma. These CSCs maintain sustained HES1 expression by activation of HES1 promoter region upstream of classical CBF-1 binding sites, thereby completely bypassing Notch receptor-mediated activation.

Metabolic status of the cells is important in the expression of the angiogenic phenotype in endothelial cells. Our earlier studies demonstrated the effects of metabolites such as lactate, citrate and lipoxygenase products, on VEGFA-VEGFR2 signaling pathway. We report the first case of extensive involvement of isolated intracranial Rosai-Dorfman's disease (RDD) in a child. Our case is unique because it presents with involvement of the middle cranial fossa, cavernous sinus, pituitary gland, orbit, ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses. Previous cases of intracranial RDD in children have reported separate involvement of cavernous sinus, suprasellar region, and frontal and petroclival regions.

During routine dissection in the Department of Anatomy, CMS, Nepal, anomalous median nerves with regard to their formation were found in three different adult male cadavers. In one cadaver, there was variation in the formation of the median nerve and its relation with the axillary artery. Another cadaver revealed the formation of the median nerve by three roots, while in the third one, the median nerve was found to be formed by four roots.

Anatomical variations in the formation, course and distribution of brachial plexus are well documented. The present report describes some rare variations with regard to relation of cords of brachial plexus, median and ulnar nerves with the third part of axillary artery and brachial artery in the left upper limb of an adult male cadaver. All three cords of brachial plexus were noted to be lateral to all three parts of axillary artery.
