Background: Inappropriate fluid management during neurosurgery can increase postoperative complications. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of goal-directed fluid therapy using stroke volume variation (SVV) in elderly patients undergoing elective craniotomy.
Materials And Methods: We randomized 100 elderly patients scheduled for elective craniotomy into two groups: goal-directed therapy (GDT, = 50) group and conventional group ( = 50).
Objective: A pediatric craniotomy for intracranial tumor removal brings both high bleeding and blood transfusion risks. The aim of this study was to identify the risk factors for intraoperative blood transfusion in this procedure. The secondary outcome was to investigate postoperative complications and clinical outcomes related to blood transfusion.

Background: Postoperative intensive care unit (ICU) admission is routinely practiced in pediatric and adult craniotomy. This study aims to identify the factors associated with an ICU stay of more than one day (prolonged ICU stay, PIS) after pediatric brain tumor surgery.
Methods: Medical records of children who underwent craniotomy for brain tumor during a 10-year period were reviewed and analyzed.
Introduction: Decisions on appropriate time of extubation after pediatric neurosurgery are often challenging for anesthesiologists. The primary goal was to investigate the incidence of delayed extubation after pediatric neurosurgery. The secondary goal was to identify the factors affecting delayed extubation in these patients.

Patients And Methods: Authors reviewed medical records of patients underwent awake craniotomy with continuous physical examination for pathology adjacent to the eloquent area.
Results: Between January 2006 and August 2015, there were 37 patients underwent awake craniotomy with continuous physical examination.
