A multimedia tool for infection prevention and control practices in the intensive care unit: a participatory interventional before-after study.

Background: Infection prevention and control (IPC) practices by critical care nurses are crucial in preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) and central-line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI).

Aim: To implement an integrative approach to developing a set of IPC practices and disseminating information on the IPC practices through an educational multimedia tool to improve compliance with the practices.

Methods: This participatory interventional before-after study was conducted in a single tertiary care centre's cardiac surgical intensive care unit (ICU) from May 2022 to March 2023.

Effectiveness of Topical Application of Honey on Oral Mucosa of Children for the Management of Oral Mucositis Associated with Chemotherapy.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of topical application of honey on Oral Mucositis (OM) associated with chemotherapy.

Methods: An observational blind study is performed upon a sample of 100 children receiving chemotherapy who developed oral mucositis. All children are divided into two groups (control and experimental) who received different regimens.

Methodological Study to Develop Standard Operational Protocol on Oral Drug Administration for Children.

Objectives: To develop standard operational protocol (SOP) on oral drug administration and checklist to assess the implementation of the developed SOP.

Methods: In this prospective methodological study, SOPs were developed in five phases. In the first phase, the preliminary draft of SOPs and checklists were prepared based on literature review, assessment of current practices and focus group discussion (FGD) with bedside working nurses.
