Graph neural network and machine learning analysis of functional neuroimaging for understanding schizophrenia.

Background: Graph representational learning can detect topological patterns by leveraging both the network structure as well as nodal features. The basis of our exploration involves the application of graph neural network architectures and machine learning to resting-state functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (rs-fMRI) data for the purpose of detecting schizophrenia. Our study uses single-site data to avoid the shortcomings in generalizability of neuroimaging data obtained from multiple sites.

Incidental Identification of Osteoid Osteoma of Skull Bone on 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT.

An osteoid osteoma (OO) is a benign bone neoplasm, characterized by significant nocturnal pain that usually responds to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It occurs most commonly in the lower extremities and vertebrae. Here, we present a case of carcinoma prostate, who was referred to our department for 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT scan, and we incidentally found out PSMA-avid OO involving frontal bone of skull, which is a rare finding.

Three-Dimensional Assessment and Comparison of the Maxillary Tuberosity Between Skeletal and Dental Class I and Class II Adults in Maxillary Third Molar Agenesis Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography: A Descriptive Cross-Sectional Human Study.

Aim And Objective: The objective of this study was to assess and compare the dimensions (width (W), height (H), and length (L)) of the tuberosity distal to maxillary permanent second molar in individuals with skeletal and dental Class I and Class II malocclusions who had maxillary third molar agenesis.

Methodology: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was used to measure the left (L) and right (R) anatomical tuberosity dimensions in three dimensions using the WillMaster software (HDX WILL Corporation, Korea). The measurements were compared between Class I (n = 35) and Class II (n = 35) normo-hypodivergent adult subjects.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is an aggressive carcinoma with hematogenous spread commonly to lungs, liver, and bones. However, few cases of isolated urinary bladder metastasis have also been reported. Here we report a case of 63-year-old man, a known case of left RCC (clear cell type), post left nephrectomy, who was on regular clinicoradiological follow-up.

Impaired mother-infant bonding: a community study from India.

Purpose: Impaired mother-infant bonding (MIB) is associated with inadequate maternal skills and pose a higher risk for impaired learning, child abuse, and psychiatric disorders in children. There are approximately 24 million births annually in India; however, community data on MIB from India is lacking.

Methods: The study reports the findings of a cross-sectional survey of 8189 mothers with children of age between 13 and 15 months from the state of Kerala, India.

Lattice dynamics across the ferroelastic phase transition in BaZnTeO: a Raman and first-principles study.

Structural phase transitions drive several unconventional phenomena including some illustrious ferroic attributes which are relevant for technological advancements. On this note, we have investigated the ferroelastic structural transition of perovskite-type trigonal BaZnTeO across ∼ 150 K. With the help of Raman spectroscopy and density-functional theory (DFT)-based calculations, we report new intriguing observations associated with the phase transition in BaZnTeO.

Thumb sucking and tongue thrusting habits are mostly counteracted and rehabilitated using a tongue crib. Most patients find the conventional crib difficult (due to its position and length) in the initial days of treatment and become uncooperative. Hence, few modifications are made to the traditional design of the tongue crib for easy adjustment of the crib height and angulation, which provides comfort to the patient.

Objectives: To evaluate the level of knowledge, understanding, and impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on adult patients regarding their ongoing fixed orthodontic treatment.

Subjects And Methods: A cross-sectional and descriptive survey was conducted on 108 adult patients undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment at GSL Dental College (GSLDC), India. All the candidates were aged 18 years and above, who were in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic and devoid of treatment.

Conversion of prior univentricular repairs to septated circulation: Case selection, challenges, and outcomes.

Objectives: Complex congenital heart defects that present earlier in life are sometimes channelled in the single ventricle pathway, because of anatomical or logistic challenges involved in biventricular correction. Given the long-term functional and survival advantage, and with the surgeons' improved understanding of the cardiac anatomy, we have consciously explored the feasibility of a biventricular repair in these patients when they presented later for Fontan completion. We present a single institution's 10-year experience in achieving biventricular septation of prior univentricular repairs, the technical and physiological challenges and the surgical outcomes.

Behavioural, emotional and rhythm-related disturbances in toddlers: Preliminary findings from a community-based study in Kerala, India.

Purpose: The need to enhance mental health in primary care settings for infants and toddlers is increasingly becoming apparent. However, the lack of trained healthcare personnel and culturally appropriate measures makes it a challenge in low- and middle-income countries. A needs-based assessment of the extent of the problems in toddlers will help address the lacunae in providing mental health services.

Disentangling comorbidity in chronic pain: A study in primary health care settings from India.

Objectives: The study examined the prevalence, sociodemographic, and clinical correlates of chronic pain among primary care patients in the state of Kerala, India. It also examined the patterns and relationships of chronic physical and mental health conditions with chronic pain.

Methods: This study is a cross-sectional survey conducted among 7165 adult patients selected randomly by a multi-stage stratified design from 71 primary health centers.

Catheter-based palliation for infants with tetralogy of Fallot.

Background: The optimal management of symptomatic tetralogy of Fallot in neonates and younger infants with unfavourable anatomy is unclear and is further constrained by resource limitations in low and middle income countries.

Methods: Retrospective medical record review of infants with tetralogy of Fallot undergoing corrective or palliative procedures between January 2016 and June 2019.

Results: The study included 120 infants; of whom 83 underwent primary complete repair, four underwent surgical palliation, and 33 underwent catheter-based palliation, including balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty (n = 18), right ventricular outflow tract stenting (n = 14), and stenting of the patent arterial duct (n = 1).

Neonatal cardiac surgery in low resource settings: implications of birth weight.

Objective: We sought to evaluate the association between low birth weight (LBW) and outcomes following neonatal cardiac surgery in a low-income and middle-income country setting where LBW prevalence is high and its impact on surgical outcomes is undefined.

Design: Single-centre retrospective cohort study.

Setting: Referral paediatric hospital in Southern India PATIENTS: All neonatal cardiac surgical cases between January 2011 and December 2018.

Apicocaval juxtaposition (ACJ) is a rare form of viscerocardiac malpositions in association with single-ventricle congenital heart defects. The Fontan surgery is the common palliation, and possible surgical options include ipsilateral, contralateral, and intra-atrial conduits. Concerns include lower hemodynamic performances or risks of conduit compression by the cardiac mass.

Implementation of antimicrobial stewardship programmes (AMSP) is needed at institutional and national levels. Assessment of core capacities for AMSP is an important starting point to initiate nationwide AMSP.

Early weight trends after congenital heart surgery and their determinants.

Background: Early weight trends after cardiac surgery in infants from low- and middle-income countries where the majority are undernourished have not been defined. We studied the early post-operative weight trends to identify specific factors associated with early weight loss and poor weight gain after discharge following congenital heart surgery in consecutive infants undergoing cardiac surgery at a referral hospital in Southern India.

Methods: This was a prospective observational study.

Background: The aim was to collate and contrast patient concerns from a range of different head and neck cancer follow-up clinics around the world. Also, we sought to explore the relationship, if any, between responses to the patient concerns inventory (PCI) and overall quality of life (QOL).

Methods: Nineteen units participated with intention of including 100 patients per site as close to a consecutive series as possible in order to minimize selection bias.
