Bojungikki-tang (BJIT) is a traditional herbal medicine used in Korea, Japan, and China to treat gastrointestinal disorders. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether BJIT has protective effects against radiation-induced intestinal injury and to predict the underlying therapeutic mechanisms and related pathways via network pharmacological analyses. This study was designed to investigate the cytoprotective effect of rosmarinic acid (RA) on ultraviolet B (UVB)-induced oxidative stress in HaCaT keratinocytes. Cyclooxygenase (COX) is the rate-limiting enzyme that catalyzes the formation of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. The inducible isoform COX-2 is upregulated in the dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra of postmortem Parkinson's disease (PD) patients and in neurotoxin-induced Parkinsonism models. Dopamine is considered one of the main contributing factors in the induction of oxidative stress and selective dopaminergic neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease.
