Anatomical variations of the popliteal artery and its tibial branches: analysis in 1242 extremities.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the variations in branching of the popliteal artery by reviewing femoral arteriograms. Between 2004 and 2006, digital subtraction angiographies of both lower extremities were performed in 621 patients. We reviewed these 1242 arteriograms retrospectively in order to analyze the branching pattern of the popliteal artery.
