- A new method was developed to create a solid dispersion of carvedilol (CV), a poorly water-soluble drug, using water, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP K30), and Tween 80 without changing the drug's crystalline form.
- The optimal weight ratio for the solid dispersion was found to be CV/PVP K30/Tween 80 at 12/4/2, significantly improving CV's solubility and dissolution rate by approximately 11,500-fold and two-fold, respectively.
- This environmentally friendly technique offers advantages over traditional methods and shows promise for enhancing the delivery of hydrophobic drugs like carvedilol.
