Developing a highly efficient electrocatalyst for detecting hazardous bisphenol S (BPS) is essential to minimize health risks. Herein, we fabricate γ-FeO nanocubes (IONCs) anchored on carbon nanotube nanoribbons (CNRs) (denoted as IONCs-CNRs) for the electrochemical detection of BPS in vegetables. Importantly, the IONCs can be selectively formed only on CNRs via amperometric deposition, while γ-FeO cubic clusters (IOCCs) form in the absence of CNRs.

Interaction between electrons and phonons in solids is a key effect defining the physical properties of materials, such as electrical and thermal conductivity. In transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), the electron-phonon coupling results in the formation of polarons, quasiparticles that manifest themselves as discrete features in the electronic spectral function. In this study, we report the formation of polarons at the alkali-dosed MoSe surface, where Rashba-like spin splitting of the conduction band states is caused by an inversion-symmetry breaking electric field.

This study examined the effects of lactic acid bacteria fermentation on the physicochemical and functional properties of the flours from two rice varieties, Shindongjin (SF) and Hitomebore (HF), both with similar amylose content. Fermentation with Lactobacillus plantarum over 48 h resulted in significant changes. Protein content decreased substantially in both varieties, especially in SF, and amylose content increased.
