The cumulative toxicity of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) cause many medical diseases. We analyzed the evidence of association between VOCs and risk of metabolic syndrome in the Korean population using 1771 participants from the 2023 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The creatinine-corrected urinary concentrations of BMA, 2-MHA, PGA, SPMA, 3-HPMA, BPMA and DHBMA were higher in the metabolic syndrome group than in the non-metabolic syndrome group.

Materials And Methods: Eight Hanwoo cows in their first parity were divided into two groups. The control group (C, 100%) received 3kg of concentrate and 5kg of rice straw throughout the pregnancy period, while the treatment group (T, 150%) increased their diet during mid-to-late pregnancy.

Podocyte hypertrophy and apoptosis are two hallmarks of diabetic glomeruli, but the sequence in which these processes occur remains a matter of debate. Here we investigated the effects of inhibiting hypertrophy on apoptosis, and vice versa, in both podocytes and glomeruli, under diabetic conditions.
