IOTA Simple Ultrasound Rules for Triage of Adnexal Mass: Experience from South India.

Objective: To assess the diagnostic performance of International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) simple ultrasound rules to discriminate adnexal masses as benign or malignant.

Methods: A cross-sectional prospective study was conducted on women scheduled for elective surgery due to adnexal masses. Ultrasound examiner systematically assessed the tumors according to the IOTA simple rules to determine the risk of the tumor being malignant.

Neuroendocrine Cancer of Rectum Metastasizing to Ovary.

Neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) are rare malignancies that originate from the hormone-producing cells of the body's neuroendocrine system. Rectal high grade NEC (HG-NEC) constituting less than 1% of colorectal cancers can cause large ovarian metastasis that may be the initial presenting complaint. Ovarian Krukenberg tumor from a primary rectal HG-NEC is a very unusual and exceedingly uncommon differential diagnosis for secondary ovarian malignancy.

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare ulcerative cutaneous disorder with tendency to recur in the injured area. Though most of the time is associated with chronic systemic conditions, it can occur in isolation and can be a diagnostic dilemma. The aetiology is poorly understood.

Early second trimester uterine scar rupture.

Spontaneous uterine scar rupture can be lethal in pregnant women. A spontaneous uterine scar rupture in the early mid-trimester is rare and difficult to diagnose. This is a case of a 30-year-old woman (G2P1L1) at 19 weeks of gestation and having undergone a previous caesarean section presented with acute abdomen in shock.
