The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between serum TLR (Toll Like Receptor) 4, 9 and Resolvin E1 levels and primary sarcopenia in geriatric patients and to compare the diagnostic accuracy of these biomarkers with the SARC-F score. A total of 88 patients aged 65 years and older were evaluated in the study. Comorbidities and geriatric syndromes were identified and patients with secondary sarcopenia were excluded.

We aimed to investigate the role of Nuclear factor Kappa B ( NF-κB ), Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor- α and γ (PPAR-α, and PPAR-γ) which are the main markers of inflammation in older adults with MetS. A total of 269 patients aged≥18, 188 patients with MetS who met the diagnostic criteria of the International Diabetes Federation, and 81 controls who applied to geriatrics and general internal medicine outpatient clinics for various reasons were included in the study.

Introduction: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a novel viral disease with person-to-person transmission that has spread to many countries since the end of 2019. Although many unknowns were resolved within a year and the vaccine is available, it is still a major global health problem.
Objective: COVID-19 infection may present with a considerably wide spectrum of severity and host factors play a significant role in determining the course of the disease.
Background: The sarcopenia quality-of-life (SarQoL)® questionnaire is a multidimensional sarcopenia specific tool designed for community dwelling older adults.
Aims: The aim of this study was to translate, to cross-culturally adapt and validate the SarQoL® questionnaire to assess sarcopenia-related quality of life in Turkish older adults.
Methods: The validation process was performed in two sections: the first section constituted the translation with cross-cultural adaptation of SarQoL® into Turkish.
Objectives: The present study aims to compare different types of insulin concerning treatment success and insulin dose requirement in type 2 diabetes patients who were receiving basal-bolus insulin therapy and to evaluate the causes of treatment failure despite high doses of insulin.
Methods: In our retrospective study, 198 type 2 diabetes patients who were receiving basal-bolus insulin therapy included. Patients were divided into three groups according to the insulin types (Group 1: short and long-acting analogue insulin users (n=83), Group 2: short and long-acting human regular insulin users (n=58), Group 3: human regular insulin + long-acting analogue insulin users (57)).
