Robust scaffolds were typically applied in thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) molecules to suppress the non-radiative decay, trigger the fast spin-flipping, and enhance the light out-coupling efficiency. Herein, we disclosed for the first time the positive effect of flexible conformation of ancillary groups on the photophysical properties of TADF emitter. The red TADF emitter Ph-TPA with flexible conformation demonstrated small excited-state structural distortion and low reorganization energy compared to the counterpart Mc-TPA with a rigid macrocycle.

This study aimed to explore the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and reduced risk of readmission in patients having rheumatoid arthritis with hypoproteinemia(RA-H). A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 2 437 rheumatoid arthritis patients in the information system database of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine from 2014 to 2021, and 476 of them were found to have hypoproteinemia. The patients were divided into TCM users and non-TCM users by propensity score matching.

Objective: Controversy exists regarding the impact of metformin and whether it prevents or promotes the incidence of cognitive dysfunction. This systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to identify the effect of metformin therapy on cognitive function in patients with diabetes.

Methods: Electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, PsycINFO, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science) were systematically searched by two investigators from the date of inception until March 1, 2022.

Triptolide (TPL) is an active component derived from Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F (TwHF) with therapeutic potential for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, the underlying mechanism of TPL is remains under-studied. Competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks may participate in the response to TPL in RA.

Depression is one of the most common and disabling mental disorders. There is growing evidence that 5-HT1A receptor is involved in the regulation of depressive-related behaviors. However, the exact mechanism underlying the role of 5-HT1A receptor in depression remains unknown.

We report growth, electronic structure and superconductivity of ultrathin epitaxial CoSifilms on Si (111). At low coverages, preferred islands with 2, 5 and 6 monolayers height develop, which agrees well with the surface energy calculation. We observe clear quantum well states as a result of electronic confinement and their dispersion agrees well with density functional theory calculations, indicating weak correlation effect despite strong contributions from Co 3electrons.

Objective: To evaluate the value of the three-dimensional visualization technology for the preoperative assessment of liver autotransplantation for end-stage hepatic alveolar echinococcosis.

Methods: A total of 8 patients with end-stage hepatic alveolar echinococcosis undergoing liver autotransplantation in Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital from May 2013 to July 2017 were collected. All cases received preoperative abdominal CT scanning and dynamic three-phase enhanced CT scanning, and the original CT data were transferred to the human 3D visualization virtual surgical planning system.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore the link between gallbladder diseases and hepatic alveolar echinococcosis in children by analyzing clinical data from a hospital over five years.
  • Out of 51 child patients, a significant number had gallbladder-related complications, with 78.43% showing symptoms and 58.82% experiencing complications after surgery.
  • Key factors influencing gallbladder complications included the classification of the disease, liver segment involvement, and characteristics of lesions, highlighting the need for careful monitoring and management in affected patients.

Objective: To detect the expression of follicuLar helper T cells (Tfh) and interleukin-21 (IL-21) in the peripheral blood of patients with hepatic echinococcosis and healthy controls, so as to explore the associations of Tfh and IL-21 expression with the progression of hepatic echinococcosis.

Methods: Fifty cases of hepatic echinococcosis and healthy controls were collected from Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital, respectively. Flow cytometry was used to detect the expression of Tfh cells in the peripheral blood of hepatic echinococcosis patients and healthy controls, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect serum IL-21 expression in hepatic echinococcosis patients and healthy controls.

Arsenic is one of the most toxic substances yet discovered and arsenic contamination of water has become a global environmental problem in need of a solution. This study has identified the capacity of sodium persulfate (PS), activated by zero-valent iron (ZVI) to remove As(Ⅴ) from waste-water is much greater than the capacity of PS alone due to the production of sulfate radicals in the process. Five parameter types including PS and ZVI dosage, reaction temperature, initial pH value, and initial As(Ⅴ) concentration are discussed in detail.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explores how methylamine and dimethylamine affect the hydrolysis of nitrogen monoxide (NO) through theoretical calculations of molecular clusters.
  • Results indicate that incorporating methylamine lowers the energy barrier for the reaction compared to ammonia, suggesting amines are more effective in promoting the hydrolysis of NO.
  • The findings reveal that additional water molecules help stabilize transition states and product complexes, leading to the formation of larger aerosol particles from complexes like CHNHNO and NHNO.

Objective: To investigate the changes of the myocardial cells in chronic epileptic rat model and to observe the expression of calcium sensing receptor(CaSR) and mitogen-activated proteinkinase(MAPK)pathway changes in epilepsy rats.

Methods: The chronic epileptic rat model was induced bypentetrazole (PTZ). Adult male Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups randomly, and there were 12 rats in each group.

The mechanism and kinetics of the reactions of CF(3)COOCH(2)CH(3), CF(2)HCOOCH(3), and CF(3)COOCH(3) with Cl and OH radicals are studied using the B3LYP, MP2, BHandHLYP, and M06-2X methods with the 6-311G(d,p) basis set. The study is further refined by using the CCSD(T) and QCISD(T)/6-311++G(d,p) methods. Seven hydrogen-abstraction channels are found.

Reactions of (CF3)2CFOCH3 and (CF3)2CFOCHO with hydroxyl radical and chlorine atom are studied at the B3LYP and BHandHLYP/6-311+G(d,p) levels along with the geometries and frequencies of all stationary points. This study is further refined by CCSD(T) and QCISD(T)/6-311+G(d,p) methods in the minimum energy paths. For the reaction (CF3)2CFOCH3 + OH, two hydrogen abstraction channels are found.

High-quality and wafer-scale graphene on insulating gate dielectrics is a prerequisite for graphene electronic applications. For such applications, graphene is typically synthesized and then transferred to a desirable substrate for subsequent device processing. Direct production of graphene on substrates without transfer is highly desirable for simplified device processing.

Two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal microsheets of 8-hydroxyquinoline zinc (Znq2) were synthesized readily via a mixed solvent induced self-assembly method. The 2D optical waveguiding properties of the microsheets have been clearly revealed by both fluorescence microscopy and confocal microscopy. In addition, the reversible vapochromic properties of the microsheets have also been demonstrated when the Znq2 is exposed to HCl and NH3 vapors.
