DICER1 mutations predispose to increased risk for various cancers, particularly pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB), the commonest lung malignancy of childhood. There is a paucity of directly actionable molecular targets as these tumors are driven by loss-of-function mutations of DICER1. Therapeutic development for PPB is further limited by a lack of biologically and physiologically-representative disease models.

We sought to compare gastrointestinal and oncological outcomes of pediatric gastrointestinal lymphomas who underwent attempted upfront resection or biopsy of the presenting bowel mass.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed charts of children with gastrointestinal lymphomas treated on LMB89 and LMB96 protocols from 2000 to 2019 who underwent upfront gastrointestinal surgery, and compared resection and biopsy groups.
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a rare hepatic malignancy in children. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a key predisposing factor in endemic regions but its impact on outcome has not been studied. We aim to evaluate the prognostic implication of HBV seropositivity and role of cancer surveillance in children with HCC from East Asian populations with national HBV vaccination.
