Papillary adenoma of the lung, a rare and benign tumor, is easily confused with other primary benign or malignant lung tumors and especially with lung adenocarcinoma that has a papillary growth pattern. Enhanced understanding and an accurate diagnosis of papillary adenomas of the lung are crucial for clinical treatment and prognostic assessment. A 61-year-old man who presented with an opportunistic finding in relation to a left lower lobe lung nodule during an examination was admitted to The First Hospital of China Medical University (Shenyang, China) for further treatment.

Patient Concerns: We report the case of a 60-year-old Chinese female who presented with numbness and weakness of the limbs for approximately 6 months.
Background: Thymic lipofibroadenomas are extremely rare. In this study, we investigated the clinicopathological characteristics of thymic lipofibroadenomas.
Case Summary: This study included three patients with thymic lipofibroadenomas.
Background: A significant proportion of newly diagnosed patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) have metastasis and eventually die of the disease, necessitating the exploration of novel biomarkers for early detection of cSCC aggressiveness, risk assessment and monitoring. Matrix metalloproteinase-13 (MMP-13) has been implicated in cSCC pathogenesis. Serum MMP-13 levels have been shown to predict survival in patients with esophageal SCC, but their diagnostic value for cSCC has not been explored.

A retrospective study of 42 cases on paraffin-embedded tissue specimens diagnosed with DLBCL was performed using immunohistochemistry (IHC) and fluorescence hybridization (FISH). The expression of C-MYC, BCL-2, BCL-6 protein, and gene abnormalities in these tissue samples was analyzed.

In 1 six-membered Mn rings were constructed from Mn ions and L ligands, which were connected to each other by double chloride anions affording a 2D layer. When the chloride anions in 1 were substituted partly by formate, [MnClL(HCO)] (2) was obtained.

Background: Cepharanthine (CEP) is a biscoclaurine alkaloid extracted from Stephania cepharantha and has been shown to have an anti-tumour effect on different types of cancers. However, the anti-cancer effect of CEP on human breast cancer cells is still unclear.
Methods: We used MTT, clone formation, in vitro scratch, invasion and migration assays to confirm the inhibitory role of CEP on the proliferation of breast cancer cells.
Objective: To investigate the clinical manifestations, pathological characteristics, and treatments of urothelial-type mucinous adenocarcinoma of the prostate (UMAP).
Methods: We reported a case of UMAP, reviewed relevant literature, and analyzed the clinicopaothological features, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of the disease.
Results: The patient was a 60-year-old male and underwent transurethral resection of the prostate for dysuria.
Tamoxifen (TAM) is the most widely used endocrine therapy for estrogen receptor (ER)-positive breast cancer patients, but side effects and the gradual development of insensitivity limit its application. We investigated whether Huaier extract, a traditional Chinese medicine, in combination with TAM would improve treatment efficacy in ER-positive breast cancers. MTT, colony formation, and invasion and migration assays revealed that the combined treatment had stronger anticancer effects than either treatment alone.

It can regulate the structure of the actin cytoskeleton and inhibit cell proliferation, motility and angiogenesis, which predominantly depends on its homology to rat RhoGAP. There are many genetic variants in DLC1, which may influence its antitumor efficacy.

In the complex, the L ligands act as corner and bridge ligands simultaneously. With the help of the corner ligands, infinite Cu(CN)∞ chains are formed.

Results of antifungal activity analysis indicated that some of the products showed good to excellent antifungal activity, as compound 2 showed excellent activity against G. zeae and R.

Although p53 binding protein 1 (53BP1) has been implicated in several biological processes, its function in EMT of human cancers has not yet been reported. Here, we show that 53BP1 negatively regulated EMT by modulating ZEB1 through targeting microRNA (miR)-200b and miR-429.

Their activity of anti-pathogenic fungi of plants has been evaluated. It is found that these compounds have good antifungal activity against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Helminthosprium maydis, Botrytis cinerea, Rhizoctonia solani and Gibberella zeae.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIt still remains a great challenge to design and construct framework-structured weak ferromagnets with large canting angle which is an effective approach for high performance magnets. According to the strategy of antisymmetric interaction causing spin canting, we report the design of four cobalt compounds, which were tested by X-ray single crystal diffraction, TGA, PXRD, and magnetic measurement. Single-crystal structure analysis reveals that compound 1 has a 2D structure, complex 2 has a 3,4-connected 3D framework, and complex 3 exhibits a 3D net structure with rare 3,5-connected 2-nodal β-SnF2 topology and the solvent MeOH trapped in the 3D channels as guests.
