Loquat, commonly known as , is a major subtropical fruit from the family that is native to China but also found in most of Europe and Asia, including India. Apple stem grooving virus (ASGV) infecting loquat was detected using leaf samples collected from Himachal Pradesh (India) through DAC-ELISA followed by RT-PCR assays targeting coat protein (CP), movement protein (MP) and replicase (Rep) regions of ASGV genome. Sequencing of RT-PCR amplicons and sequence analyses revealed that CP, MP and Rep sequences of ASGV loquat Indian isolate of the current study shared a maximum of 98-100% nucleotide sequence identities with the corresponding sequences of available ASGV Indian isolates [LN559078, HE978837, MZ127820, MN912568].

Nickeltitanate (Ilmenite) has been prepared with stoichiometric variation by substituting Mn in the 'A' site, using the sol-gel method in a highly active form. The PdSn electrocatalyst was then impregnated with nickeltitanate by a microwave-assisted polyol method. A low-voltage nongassing electroosmotic pump was assembled by sandwiching a silica frit between two carbon paper electrodes that were dip-coated with a paste consisting of phosphomolybdic acid/phosphotungstic acid (PMA/PTA)-encapsulated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and Nafion. The PMA/PTA encapsulation was a combined effect of their thermomigration and nanocapillary action in MWCNTs. The encapsulated MWCNTs retained desirable redox and charge transfer characteristics of PMA/PTA.

Computer-aided drug screening by molecular docking, molecular dynamics (MD) and structural-activity relationship (SAR) can offer an efficient approach to identify promising drug repurposing candidates for COVID-19 treatment. In this study, computational screening is performed by molecular docking of 1615 Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drugs against the main protease (Mpro) of SARS-CoV-2. Several promising approved drugs, including Simeprevir, Ergotamine, Bromocriptine and Tadalafil, stand out as the best candidates based on their binding energy, fitting score and noncovalent interactions at the binding sites of the receptor.
