Posttransplant epithelioid inflammatory myofibroblastic sarcoma: A case report.

Epithelioid inflammatory myofibroblastic sarcoma (EIMS) is a rare entity and a novel variant of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT), usually seen in children and nonsmoking young adults. Their occurrence in a posttransplant setting is still rare. These tumors are characterized by prominent epithelioid morphology, large histiocytoid "Reed Sternberg"-like cell, unique pattern of ALK immuno-reactivity, and aggressive clinical behavior.

Primary Renal Cell Lymphoma: Case Report, Diagnosis, and Management.

The symptoms of primary renal lymphoma (PRL) may mimic a renal cell carcinoma. Since the diagnosis is mostly after a radical nephrectomy, we recommend a percutaneous biopsy or cytology from the renal mass in patients who have features suggestive of a lymphoma. A magnetic resonance imaging may give an image more specific for a lymphoma.

Simultaneous whole-body ¹⁸F-FDG PET-MRI in primary staging of breast cancer: a pilot study.

Purpose: Accurate initial staging in breast carcinoma is important for treatment planning and for establishing the likely prognosis. The purpose of this study was to assess the utility of whole body simultaneous (18)F-FDG PET-MRI in initial staging of breast carcinoma.

Methods: 36 patients with histologically confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma underwent simultaneous whole body (18)F-FDG PET-MRI on integrated 3T PET-MR scanner (Siemens Biograph mMR) for primary staging.

Somatostatin receptor-positive granulomatous inflammation mimicking as meningioma on simultaneous PET/MRI.

Positron imaging with radiolabeled synthetic somatostatin receptor analogs such as Ga DOTATATE (Gallium-68-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-N,N',N″,N‴-tetra acetic acid-DPhe1,Tyr3-octreotate) is used for diagnosis and target volume delineation of intracranial meningiomas. We report a case of a somatostatin receptor-positive extra-axial necrotizing granulomatous inflammation mimicking as meningioma on simultaneous Ga DOTATATE PET/MRI. This case illustrates a Ga DOTATATE-positive granuloma bearing a striking resemblance to meningioma.

Correlation between HER2 gene amplification and protein overexpression through fluorescence in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry in breast carcinoma patients.

Background: In India, the incidence of breast cancer has increased in the urban population, with 1 in every 22 women diagnosed with breast cancer. It is important to know the HER2/neu gene status for a better prognostication of these patients.

Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) for determining HER2/neu alteration in breast carcinoma.

Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign but locally destructive lesion of the bone characterized by the presence of spongy or multi-loculated cystic tissue filled with blood. It accounts for 2.5% of all bone tumors.

Varied presentation of schwannoma - a case study.

Schwannomas can occur anywhere in the body with unusual presentation. They are difficult to diagnose preoperatively. Fine needle aspiration biopsy does not appear to provide an accurate preoperative diagnosis.

Primary lymphoma of the breast: a clinicopathological study.

3 cases of primary non Hodgkins lymphoma of the breast are described, seen over a period of 2 years among 199 cases of breast malignancies. All were diffuse large B cell type. Application of immunohistochemistry greatly aids in differentiating lymphoma from anaplastic carcinoma, with which it can easily be confused.
