Voriconazole is the first-line treatment for invasive aspergillosis. Its pharmacokinetics exhibit considerable inter- and intra-individual variability. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of CYP2C19, CYP2C9, CYP3A4, and FMO3 genetic polymorphisms and sex on the pharmacokinetics of voriconazole in healthy Chinese adults receiving single-dose and multiple-dose voriconazole, to provide a reference for its clinical individualized treatment.

Pharmacokinetics, Urinary Excretion, and Pharmaco-Metabolomic Study of Tebipenem Pivoxil Granules After Single Escalating Oral Dose in Healthy Chinese Volunteers.

Tebipenem pivoxil (TBPM-PI), an oral carbapenem antibiotic, has shown special advantages in pediatric infections and was in urgent need in China. Although pharmacokinetics, urinary excretion, and metabolite information of its active form tebipenem (TBPM) has been reported, ethnic differences may exist among the Chinese and Japanese population. By now, no systematic pharmacokinetics, urinary excretion, metabolites, or safety information has been revealed to the Chinese population.

Association of p21 3' UTR gene polymorphism with cancer risk: Evidence from a meta-analysis.

Numerous studies have investigated the risk of cancer associated with the polymorphism of p21 3' UTR (rs1059234 C > T), but results have been inconsistent. We performed this meta-analysis to drive a more precise estimation of the association between this polymorphism and risk of cancer. A comprehensive search was conducted to identify all case-control studies of the rs1059234 C > T polymorphism of p21 3' UTR and cancer susceptibility.

Role of programmed death ligands in effective T-cell interactions in extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma.

Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKL) is marked by a profound cellular immune deficiency that may influence the capacity of T cells to extract an efficient antitumor immune response. It has been confirmed that the B7-CD28 pathway may promote tumor immune evasion by providing a negative regulatory signal. The current study analyzed the expression of programmed death 1 (PD-1)/programmed death ligand (PD-L) in ENKL cell lines and tissues.

[Prognostic significance of coagulation disorders in children with hemophagocytic syndrome].

Objective: To study the prognostic significance of coagulation disorders in children with hemophagocytic syndrome (HPS).

Methods: Thirty-five children with HPS were retrospectively studied to analyze the etiology, clinical characteristics, laboratory results and treatment outcomes.

Results: After treatment, 27 of the 35 HPS patients survived, and the other 8 cases died.

Background: Ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) is the most common cause of chronic renal failure in children. Rapid diagnosis is important to preserve function and/or to slow down renal injury. This study was to examine serum and urinary procollagen III aminoterminal propeptide (sPIIINP/uPIIINP) protein as potential biomarkers of obstruction in hydronephrosis.

Pilot and pivotal study to evaluate the bioequivalence of two paroxetine 40 mg tablet formulations in healthy Chinese subjects.

The purpose of this study was to conduct a pilot study in order to obtain reliable results for further planning of a well-designed pivotal trial comparing the bioequivalence (BE) of two paroxetine tablet formulations in healthy Chinese subjects. Before conducting the pivotal trial, the pilot trial enrolled 14 subjects to help in study design, establishing the recruitment period, determining pharmacokinetics (PK) time points and sample size, and assessing BE of the two formulations. The single-center, randomized, open-label, single-dose, two period crossover study with a 7-day washout interval was conducted after obtaining information from the fasted pilot trial in 72 healthy volunteers for a pivotal study under fed and fasted conditions, respectively.
