Management of post-implant inferior alveolar neuropathy, utilizing autologous fibrin glue, concentrated growth factors and enriched bone graft matrix-A case report with 5 years follow-up.

This case report explains meticulous management of 5 year old, inferior alveolar nerve neuropathy, following placement of dental implants in the mandible. The imperative situation was that 'implants placed were not in contact with the nerve, but triggered neuralgic pain'. The objective of the treatment was to identify, and eliminate the causative factor, and to promote nerve regeneration, with pain relief.

Sugar-stabilised nanomaterials have received a lot of attention in cancer therapy in recent years due to their pronounced application as specific targeting agents and maximizing their therapeutic potential while bypassing off-target effects. Lectins, the carbohydrate-binding proteins, are capable of binding to receptors present on the target cell/tissue and interact with transformed glycans better than normal cells. Besides some of the lectins exhibit anticancer activity.

Acute protein loading in the assessment of renal reserve.

Functional renal reserve is a measure of the capacity of the kidney to increase the glomerular filtration in response to the stimulus of a protein meal or amino acid infusion. The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of protein meal test to measure functional renal reserve in normal subjects and various groups of renal patients. One hundred and twenty five subjects from the Nephrology Clinic, Kuala Lumpur General Hospital were subjected to a protein loading test to measure their renal reserve.
