Objective: Surgical clipping of the cerebral aenurysm is considered as a standard therapy with endovascular coil embolization. The surgical clipping is known to be superior to the endovascular coil embolization in terms of recurrent rate. Objective: Screw fixation via the paraspinal muscle sparing approach and by percutaneous screw fixation are known to diminish the risk of complications, such as, iatrogenic muscle injury as compared with the conventional midline approach. Myxopapillary ependymoma is a benign variant of ependymoma, occurring almost exclusively in the cauda equina region of the back. Here, we report an extremely rare case of primary myxopapillary ependymoma, and also present our review of the existing literature. This tumor occurred in the fourth ventricle of a 62-year-old woman.
