Biochars preparation from waste sludge and composts under different carbonization conditions and their Pb(II) adsorption behaviors.

This study prepared nine biochars from three biomass wastes (CompostA, CompostB and Sludge) through different carbonization conditions. The adsorption behaviors and mechanisms of these biochars for Pb(II) were tested by a series of adsorption experiments and properties analysis. Preliminary experiments showed biochars obtained from CompostA and Sludge had better Pb(II) adsorption performance than CompostB and the optimum carbonization temperature of CompostA was lower than that of Sludge.

Effect of the Activation Process on the Microstructure and Electrochemical Properties of N-Doped Carbon Cathodes in Li-O Batteries.

Lithium-oxygen (Li-O) batteries have the potential to provide high energy densities; however, they suffer from low actual specific capacity and poor cycle performance. Hence, it is urgent to design a satisfactory oxygen electrode for a Li-O battery. In this study, carbonaceous materials, denominated CA, CB, and CC, from chitin were prepared by the three activators of HPO, KOH, and KHCO as oxygen electrode materials for Li-O batteries.

[Research progress on mechanism of acupuncture for chronic atrophic gastritis].

With the purpose of providing more references of acupuncture for chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), the research achievements and action mechanism of acupuncture for CAG during past 20 years are summarized and analyzed. It is found that acupuncture could improve immune function, adjust central neural pathways, regulate gastroi-ntestinal hormone, increase stomach blood flow, regulate cytokines, increase gastric dynamics, control the gastric acid secretion, improve inflammatory response and regulate cell proliferation and apoptosis, which could strengthen gastric mucosa barrier. In addition, several problems and defects of related studies were pointed out, and reference and suggestion are provided for further clinical researches.

Acupuncture Decreases NF-κB p65, miR-155, and miR-21 and Increases miR-146a Expression in Chronic Atrophic Gastritis Rats.

Acupuncture has been used to treat chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for centuries. In this study, we evaluated the effect of acupuncture at Zusanli (ST36), Zhongwan (CV12), and Pishu (BL20) acupoints on weight changes of rats, histological changes of gastric glands, and expressions changes of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) p65, microRNA- (miR-) 155, miR-21, and miR-146a in CAG rats induced by N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG) combined with irregular diet. Consequently, we found that acupuncture treatment elevated body weight of rats significantly when compared to the model group.

[Analysis on the accuracy of simple selection method of Fengshi (GB 31)].

To explore the accuracy of simple selection method of Fengshi (GB 31). Through the study of the ancient and modern data,the analysis and integration of the acupuncture books,the comparison of the locations of Fengshi (GB 31) by doctors from all dynasties and the integration of modern anatomia, the modern simple selection method of Fengshi (GB 31) is definite, which is the same as the traditional way. It is believed that the simple selec tion method is in accord with the human-oriented thought of TCM.

[Discussion on knowledge structural system of modern acupuncture professionals].

To explore the knowledge structural system that the modern acupuncture professionals should have. The current situation of personnel training for modern acupuncture professionals was multi-dimensionally and comprehensively analyzed from course offering of higher education, laws of famous physicians growth, and discipline development features of the acupuncture and moxibustion subject, and suggestions were made to the shortages. The reasonable knowledge structural system that the modern acupuncture professionals should have included establishment of good Chinese medicine thoughts, mastery of complete Chinese medicine therapy, and ability of followup of dynamic development of subject.

[Effects of thread embedding therapy on nucleotides and gastrointestinal hormones in the patient of chronic gastritis].

Objective: To observe therapeutic effect of thread embedding therapy on chronic gastritis.

Methods: Seventy cases of chronic gastritis were randomly divided into the treatment group (n = 36) treated by thread embedding therapy and the control group (n = 34) by acupuncture. Weishu (BL 21), Zhongwan (CV 12) and Zusanli (ST 36) were selected as main points.
