Article Synopsis
  • A study of 96 invasive breast ductal carcinoma cases examined the expression of apoptotic proteins Bax and Bcl-2 in tumor and endothelial cells, finding a significant association of Bax in both cell types.
  • Bcl-2 expression in tumor cells was linked to estrogen and progesterone receptor presence, while it inversely correlated with endothelial Bcl-2 levels.
  • The research highlighted that intratumoral microvessel density was greater than peritumoral density, indicating that tumor cell survival and angiogenesis are influenced by hormonal factors but are independent of apoptotic protein expression.
