Article Synopsis
  • Chronic hepatitis C (CHC) is common in hemophilia patients, but there’s limited data on antiviral treatment efficacy in Korea, prompting this study on peginterferon α-2a and ribavirin.
  • In a study of 104 treatment-naïve hemophilia patients, 60.6% achieved rapid virologic response (RVR), 91.3% reached end-of-treatment response (ETR), and 85.6% sustained virologic response (SVR), with few relapses (8.9%).
  • Common side effects included hair loss and headaches, but serious issues like bleeding were not reported, indicating the treatment is considered safe and effective for this patient group.
