Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in patients with surgically altered anatomy is technically challenging. For example, scope insertion, selective cannulation, and intended procedures, such as stone extraction or stent placement, can be difficult. Single-balloon enteroscopy (SBE)-assisted ERCP has been used to effectively and safely address these technical issues in clinical practice.

She visited her family doctor with a complaint of bloody stools, and was pointed out a Type 3 colon cancer in the cecum with a colonoscopy. In addition, an enlarged lymph node(#203)was found on the right side of the superior mesenteric vein(SMV).

Methods: This prospective, multicentre, post-marketing surveillance study is conducted in 393 patients with UC in Japan (UMIN000027542).
Background: Cell adhesion is indispensable for appropriate tissue architecture and function in multicellular organisms. Besides maintaining tissue integrity, cell adhesion molecules, including tight-junction proteins claudins (CLDNs), exhibit the signaling abilities to control a variety of physiological and pathological processes. However, it is still fragmentary how cell adhesion signaling accesses the nucleus and regulates gene expression.

However, the actual number of heat-related illness cases during the competition was lower than that was initially expected, and it was unclear under what conditions or environment-related heat illnesses occurred among athletes.
Object: To clarify the cause and factors contributing to the occurrence of heat-related illness among athletes participating in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Abstract Background/purpose: The dentition shows individual characteristics and dental structures are stable with respect to postmortem decomposition, allowing the dentition to be used as an effective tool in forensic dentistry. We developed an automatic identification system using panoramic radiographs (PRs) with a deep learning method.
Materials And Methods: In total, 4966 PRs from 1663 individuals with various changes in image characteristics due to various dental treatments were collected.
A 57-year-old male patient with relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma received 4 courses of Pola-BR (polatuzumab vedotin-bendamustine-rituximab). After treatment, stem cell collection with G-CSF and plerixafor successfully yielded 4.2×10 cells/kg of CD34-positive cells.

Quantitative flow ratio (QFR) is a novel angiography-based approach to estimate FFR. This study aimed to investigate whether preoperative QFR could discriminate arterial bypass function at 1 year after surgery.

However, the pathomechanism of PE and appropriate management of Asian patients with CML have not been elucidated. This study investigated the incidence rate, risk, and appropriate management of PE in Asian patients with CML treated with dasatinib.

Cell immortalization is a promising technique for the propagation of primary human astrocytes. The immortalized cells retain their astrocytic marker mRNA expression at lower levels than the primary cells.

Methods: From 1999 to 2019, 1077 patients (659 OAR, 418 EVAR) underwent AAA repair. The OAR and EVAR groups were compared retrospectively, and a propensity matching analysis was performed.
Aim: The aging-related increase in the incidence of anemia potentially affects the mortality risk. Lower cognitive function is common among older adults, and anemia is one of the causes of cognitive decline. However, to the best of our knowledge, no study has investigated whether cognitive decline is a risk factor for anemia in older people.

Methods: We reviewed the clinicopathological variables of 1646 patients who underwent colectomy for colorectal cancer between 2009 and 2018.
Root hairs are single-celled tubular structures produced from the epidermis, which play an essential role in water and nutrient uptake from the soil. Therefore, root hair formation and elongation are controlled not only by developmental programs but also by environmental factors, enabling plants to survive under fluctuating conditions. Phytohormones are key signals that link environmental cues to developmental programs; indeed, root hair elongation is known to be controlled by auxin and ethylene.

When previously screening for resistance against B. glumae in the resistant cultivar Nona Bokra (NB) versus the susceptible cultivar Koshihikari (KO), we detected a gene, Resistance to Burkholderia glumae 1 (RBG1), at a quantitative trait locus (QTL).

In both cases, Kawasaki disease was not considered as a differential diagnosis in the early stages. However, it was possible to make a diagnosis by citing the disease as a differential diagnosis and introducing the patients to the pediatrics department.

However, previous studies used highly invasive methods to trigger SDs that can directly cause tissue injury (eg, topical KCl) and confound the interpretation. Here, we tested whether SDs indeed enlarge infarcts when induced via a novel, noninjurious method using optogenetics.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA number of restricted diffusion (RD) imaging techniques, such as diffusion kurtosis (DK) imaging and Q space imaging, have been developed and proven to be useful for the diagnosis of diseases, including cerebral gliomas and cerebrovascular infarction. In particular, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) subtraction method (ASM) imaging has become available recently as a novel RD imaging technique. ASM is based on the difference between the ADC values in an image pair of two ADC maps, ADC basic (ADCb) and ADC modify (ADCm), which are created from diffusion-weighted images taken using short and long effective diffusion times, respectively.

Our recent study indicated that KYP/SUVH5/6 can directly interact with the histone deacetylase HDA6 to synergistically regulate TE expression. However, the function of KYP/SUVH5/6 in plant development is still unclear.
