Dasatinib, a second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has been reported to have immunomodulatory effects. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated lymphoproliferative disorders (EBV-LPD) occur in immunocompromised patients, such as those receiving methotrexate or other immunosuppressive drugs or after allogenic transplantation. EBV-LPD is also reported to be a rare side effect in patients receiving long-term dasatinib or imatinib.

Psychogenic fever and neurodevelopmental disorders among Japanese children.

Background: Psychosocial stress can induce various physical symptoms, including fever, which is a commonly seen symptom in pediatric practice. In cases of unexplained fever, psychogenic fever should be considered as a potential cause. Children with neurodevelopmental disorders may be more vulnerable to stress and therefore more prone to developing somatic symptoms than their peers.

Stepwise approach of hysteroscopic cytoreductive surgery for adenomyosis in patients with recurrent implantation failure.

Objective: To study the value of hysteroscopic cytoreductive surgery for adenomyotic lesions to improve reproductive outcomes. We describe a feasible and novel minimal invasive stepwise approach, which did not result in postoperative adhesion formation and restored favorable reproductive outcomes.

This study reports a case of uterine liposarcoma together with a literature review. At 52 years old, our patient was diagnosed with lipoleiomyoma by MRI. A mass (39 × 32 × 41 mm) protruding from the anterior wall of the uterine body was observed.

Intrauterine insemination with donor sperm (IUI-D) requires multiple in vitro manipulations such as sperm selection and cryopreservation during which spermatozoa may be exposed to oxidative stress (OS) and other insults that may produce potential damage including sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF). High levels of SDF, referring to damage or breaks in the genetic material of sperm cells, are linked to an increased risk of reproductive failure. This retrospective, observational study set out to evaluate whether SDF assessment could predict clinical outcome in an IUI-D program, where sperm donors are selected on strict conventional semen parameters.

This study aimed to clarify the interpersonal relationships and coping behaviors of pediatric patients with psychosomatic diseases during frustrating situations simulated using the Rosenzweig Picture-Frustration study.

Background: Sperm DNA fragmentation has been proposed as a candidate test for the assessment of sperm function on the premise that damage to the sperm chromatin is associated with a detrimental reproductive outcome. The objective of our study was to investigate whether sperm DNA fragmentation testing has a prognostic value, and thus can play a pivotal role in selecting future patients for intra-uterine insemination (IUI) therapy.

However, despite the combination of the high-resolution visualization of SEM and the high experimental capability of microfluidics, the image is unclear because of the scattering of the electron beam in the ETM. Thus, this study developed a microfluidic liquid cell with a super-thin ETM of thickness 10 nm.

First-Line Gemcitabine, Nab-Paclitaxel, and Oxaliplatin Chemotherapy With Itraconazole in Patients With Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer: A Single Institution Experience.

Background/aim: Combination chemotherapy with gemcitabine, nab-paclitaxel, oxaliplatin, and itraconazole (GnPO-ITC) was administered as first-line chemotherapy in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer (mPC). The efficacy and toxicity of these treatments were retrospectively investigated.

Patients And Methods: A total of 81 patients (mean age=64 years) with an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status of 0-1 were enrolled in the study, and administered nab-paclitaxel (125 mg/m), gemcitabine (1,000 mg/m), and oxaliplatin (85 mg/m) on day 1 and itraconazole (400 mg) on days -2 to +2, repeated every 2 weeks.

A Survey on the Current Status of Ophthalmological Consultations in Patients With Diabetes Undergoing Maintenance Hemodialysis and the Effectiveness of Education on Consultation Behavior -Experience of a Single Hemodialysis Clinic in Japan.

Introduction: It is extremely important for patients with diabetes undergoing maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) to receive regular ophthalmologic examinations. However, even in the field of MHD in Japan, where there are many hemodialysis patients and the survival rate is said to be one of the highest in the world, we often see patients with diabetes who do not receive regular ophthalmologic examinations. In this study, we surveyed the status of ophthalmology consultations and the use of diabetic eye notebook (DEN) among hemodialysis patients with diabetes at hemodialysis clinics to confirm the current situation, with the aim of confirming the effectiveness of education on consultation behavior by medical care staff.
