Background: To figure out the effect of andrographolide sulfonate on the clinical efficacy and immune function of children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP).

Methods: From January 2019 to April 2021, a total of 102 children with MPP were selected as the research group. They were assigned into the control and the observation groups by random number table method, with 51 cases/group.

Aim: We aimed to explore the value of peripheral blood neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) for the clinical diagnosis and prognosis of elderly patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) and atrial fibrillation (AF).

Methods: A total of 248 eligible patients were followed up for five years, and divided into major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE) and non-MACE groups. The independent predictive factors for MACE were explored by multivariate logistic regression analysis.

Less attention has been paid to the parasitoid-host system in which the host occurs in considerably high density with a hierarchical patch structure in studies on time allocation strategies of parasitoids. This study used the parasitoid Meteorus pulchricornis (Wesmael) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) and the Oriental leafworm, Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) as the parasitoids-host model system to investigate patch-leaving mechanisms as affected by the high-host density, hierarchical patch structure, and foraging behaviors on both former and current patches. The results showed that three out of eight covariates tested had significant effects on the patch-leaving tendency, including the host density, ovipositor insertion, and host rejection on the current patch.

Article Synopsis
  • A study analyzed 13 cases of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients who presented with refractory monolineage cytopenia, representing 5.9% of a larger group of 219 MDS patients over the past decade.
  • It was found that patients with monolineage cytopenia were diagnosed with MDS after an average of 48.5 months, with varying times depending on the type of cytopenia (neutropenia, erythrocytopenia, thrombocytopenia).
  • Common features in these cases included increased macrocytic erythrocytes, the presence of intermediate and late erythroblasts in bone marrow, some dysplastic cells, and a tendency for different
