Total resection of glioblastoma (GB) tumors is nearly impossible, and systemic administration of temozolomide (TMZ) is often inadequate. This study presents a hybrid layered composite nanofiber mesh (LHN) designed for localized treatment in GB tumor bed. The LHN, consisting of polyvinyl alcohol and core-shell polylactic acid layers, was loaded with TMZ and rutin.

The exact etiopathogenesis of PFAPA syndrome remains unknown. Biological fluids or tissues may provide disease-specific biomarkers that may help clinicians to find new pathogenic pathways.

Purpose: The impact of cancer-related diarrhea (CRD) on changes in cancer therapy remains poorly characterized despite its prevalence.
Methods: We performed a longitudinal observational study using IQVIA PharMetrics Plus claims data. Patients included adults with CRD identified by diagnosis codes or pharmacy claims and compared their outcomes to matched (1:1) patients without CRD.
Background: The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) using the CyberKnife-M6 (CK-M6) with lung optimized treatment (LOT) module in patients with primary lung cancer and lung metastases.
Methods: Forty-two lesions from 35 patients were treated between 2019 and 2022. Four-dimensional computed tomography images were obtained when the patients were in a free breathing modality.
Purpose: We aimed to examine the effectiveness of mother milk exosomes in treating corrosive esophageal burns.
Materials And Methods: 32 rats were separated into four equal groups and weighed individually before the procedure. A corrosive esophageal burn model was created with 12.
The study aimed to assess the pleth variability index (PVI) in patients undergoing lumbar disc herniation surgery under general and spinal anesthesia, exploring its correlation with fluid responsiveness, position, and hemodynamic parameters. Methods: This prospective study included 88 ASA 1-2 patients, aged 18-65, undergoing 1-3 h elective lumbar disc herniation surgery. Patients in groups GA and SA were observed for demographic, operative, and hemodynamic parameters at specified time points.

Although the potential off-target effects of GFP on tumor cells have been studied to some extent, the findings at the molecular level are insufficient to explain the effect of GFP expression on the tumorigenic capacity of cancer cells. Here, we aimed to investigate the effect of GFP expression on the tumorigenicity of PC3 prostate cancer cells.

Methods: Thirty-two adult female Wistar albino rats were used in each IC/BPS model. Assessment of nociception and anxiety and severity of inflammation in the bladder were assessed by behavioral experiments and histopathological examinations respectively.
Plasma membrane proteins (PMPs) play pivotal roles in various cellular events and are crucial in disease pathogenesis, making their comprehensive characterization vital for biomedical research. However, the hydrophobic nature and low expression levels of PMPs pose challenges for conventional enrichment methods, hindering their identification and functional profiling. In this study, we presented a novel TurboID-based enrichment approach for PMPs that helped overcoming some of the existing limitations.

Materials And Methods: Simulation images were obtained in 10 respiratory phases with free breathing using four-dimensional computed tomography (4D-CT) scanner. Planning target volume (PTV) was created with 5mm margins in each direction of the internal target volume delineated using the maximum intensity projection.
Background: Sex differences in Parkinson's disease (PD) risk are well-known. However, the role of sex chromosomes in the development and progression of PD is still unclear.
Objective: The objective of this study was to perform the first X-chromosome-wide association study for PD risk in a Latin American cohort.
Importance: Scoring systems for Stevens-Johnson syndrome and epidermal necrolysis (EN) only estimate patient prognosis and are weighted toward comorbidities and systemic features; morphologic terminology for EN lesions is inconsistent.
Objectives: To establish consensus among expert dermatologists on EN terminology, morphologic progression, and most-affected sites, and to build a framework for developing a skin-directed scoring system for EN.
Evidence Review: A Delphi consensus using the RAND/UCLA appropriateness criteria was initiated with a core group from the Society of Dermatology Hospitalists to establish agreement on the optimal design for an EN cutaneous scoring instrument, terminology, morphologic traits, and sites of involvement.
Serum contains proteins that possess important information about diseases and their progression. Unfortunately, these proteins, which carry the information in the serum are in low abundance and are masked by other serum proteins that are in high abundance. Such masking prevents their identification and quantification.

This study is to compare tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) and mitral annular plane systolic excursion (MAPSE) measurement to determine volume loss pre and post blood donation in healthy volunteers. The systolic, diastolic and mean arterial blood pressures and pulses of the donors were measured in the standing and supine position by the attending physician, then, inferior vena cava (IVC), TAPSE and MAPSE measurements were made pre and post blood donation.

Although initial response to chemotherapy in SCLC patients is well-rated, the treatments applied after the disease relapses are not successful. Drug resistance is accepted to be one of the main reasons for this failure.

Primary or metastatic hepatic malignancies are common. Partial hepatectomy (PH) is the primary treatment for both benign and malignant hepatic neoplasms; it also is used for living donor liver transplantation. The regenerative potential of the liver after PH is 70-80% in humans.

We performed a retrospective single-center study of COVID-19 in children treated at a tertiary care hospital in Turkey from December 2020 to June 2021. During the course of the study, 126 patients were evaluated, of whom 70/126 were male.

Objectives: In this study, we aimed to evaluate whether fibromyalgia patients had a higher fall risk compared to healthy individuals and to identify its relationship, if there was an increase, with clinical features.
Patients And Methods: Between March 2018 and September 2018, a total of 50 consecutive female patients with fibromyalgia (median age: 35 years; interquantile range [IQR], 27 to 40 years) and 50 healthy female volunteers (median age: 30 years; IQR, 23 to 40 years) were included in the study. Pain was evaluated with the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), life quality with the Nottingham Health Profile (NHP), balance functions with the Berg Balance Test (BBT), and the risk of falls with a posturography device.
