Objectives: This study evaluated the impact of different doses of gabapentin and pregabalin on fracture healing in a rat femoral shaft model, with histological, radiological, and biomechanical assessments.
Materials And Methods: Seventy male Wistar albino rats were divided into five groups: control, low-dose gabapentin (GBP-L, 300 mg/day), high-dose gabapentin (GBP-H, 3600 mg/day), low-dose pregabalin (PRG-L, 150 mg/day), and high-dose pregabalin (PRG-H, 600 mg/day), based on human equivalent doses. Bilateral femoral fractures were induced; the right femurs were prepared for radiological examination using microtomography, followed by histological analysis, whereas the left femurs were allocated for biomechanical testing.
Biomass is a key element in biofuels which can be defined as a fuel produced through contemporary biological processes, and its increased use can support the EU's aims of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Information on the nature and the quality of the biomass or biofuel is important in order to support the optimization of their combustion with respect to realizing higher efficiencies and lower emissions during energy production. Three reference materials were produced by a collaborative approach among national metrology institutes and designated institutes within the scope of the EMPIR project: BIOFMET.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of dental treatments on salivary oxidative stress biomarkers in children aged 3-5 years with severe early childhood caries (S-ECC) compared to children without caries.
Method: This study was conducted on 20 children aged 3-5 years with severe early childhood caries (S-ECC) and 20 children without caries.
Epilepsy is one of the oldest neurological disorders discovered by mankind. This condition is firmly coupled with unprovoked seizures stimulated by irrepressible neuroelectrical blasts. Orally taken valproate family has been employed for prophylactic management; however, oral administration is not applicable for critical scenarios, thus calling for medication routes fulfilling necessities of immediate innervation.

Patients And Methods: The study enrolled 152 patients with metastatic disease who had received either ARTAs or docetaxel as first-line treatment. The median cut-off was 30.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the success of selective removal to soft dentine (SRSD) with or without calcium silicate (CS) and selective removal to firm dentine (SRFD) in permanent dentition.
Materials And Methods: Between November 2018 and March 2020, 165 posterior deep caries lesions in 134 patients were included in the study and randomly assigned into test (n = 101) and control (n = 64) groups. The control group (n = 46) received the treatment of SRFD with CS, while the test group was further randomized into two groups to receive SRSD with CS (n = 45) and SRSD without CS (n = 45).

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has gained considerable attention in cancer treatment due to its non-invasive nature and the ability of photosensitizers to generate reactive oxygen species upon light activation, leading to tumor destruction. Glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1) is a key enzyme in chemotherapy resistance, often overexpressed in various cancers, and its inhibition of GSTP1 presents a promising strategy to enhance cancer treatment. This study is aimed at assessing the potential of prominent photosensitizers as GSTP1 inhibitors through molecular docking analysis to strengthen the efficacy of PDT.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the relationship of stump length with muscle strength, proprioception, and balance in patients with traumatic unilateral transfemoral amputation.
This review focuses on the coexistence of tinnitus and temporomandibular disorders in terms of epidemiological data, etiology, differential diagnosis, treatment, and interaction between the two disorders. PubMed, Google Scholar, and ClinicalKey digital databases were used to search for publications covering the years 2009-2024. Finally, 77 publications were used.

TMD symptoms include pain in the orofacial region, restricted or altered mandibular movement, and sounds associated with the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). This condition adversely affects quality of life, social functioning, and daily activities, and may also contribute to widespread pain syndromes and comorbidities, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Objective: This systematic review aimed to summarize and evaluate the available information regarding the performance of artificial intelligence on dental implant classification and peri-implant pathology identification in 2D radiographs.
Data Sources: Electronic databases (Medline, Embase, and Cochrane) were searched up to September 2024 for relevant observational studies and both randomized and controlled clinical trials. The search was limited to studies published in English from the last 7 years.
Objective: We intended to research the efficacy of pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block performed with preoperative ultrasonography (USG) in patients who underwent hip fracture repair under spinal anaesthesia and whether it affects the success of spinal anaesthesia.
Methods: The files of 100 patients were analysed, and 60 patients were enrolled in the study. The patients were assigned into two groups: Group P (n = 30) consisted of patients who underwent USG-guided PENG block before the start of surgery and the control group (Group C; n = 30) consisted of patients in whom tramadol infusion was initiated.
Background: Ultraviolet C (UVC) light is a physical method proposed for disinfecting dental impression materials and preventing cross-infections in clinical practice. The investigations have focused on the UVC disinfection potential, but little is known about the consequences on dental materials' properties. This scoping review's objective is to evaluate information about the effect of UVC light on the dimensional stability of dental impression materials.

Methods: Data from 520 patients who underwent surgery with a preliminary diagnosis of PASD at a tertiary center in southeast Turkey between 2013 and 2023 were collected, and 302 patients were included in the study. A predictive model based on clinical and ultrasonographic variables was developed using penalized maximum likelihood estimation (PMLE) regression analysis.

While measurement invariance across groups is necessary for valid and meaningful inferences of group differences, full measurement invariance rarely holds in practice. The classification accuracy analysis framework aims to quantify the degree and practical impact of noninvariance.

We found that these cognitive constructs collectively accounted for 56% of the variance in math and 63% in science achievement, even after adjusting for gender, socioeconomic status, and country fixed effects. This means that the majority of cultural differences in math and science achievement (resulting from different education systems) can be explained by cognitive constructs employed in reading.

In 2015, Hartford HealthCare (HHC) and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) established the Shared Care Model (SCM) with a primary aim of enhancing SCT access for HHC patients. The SCM comprises several components: an SCT-dedicated nurse-navigator, a health-information exchange for record sharing, telemedicine, and ongoing training of HHC clinicians in transplant patient selection and management.
