Understanding water color is important because it is influenced by biogeochemical constituents, directly affects human perceptions of water quality, and serves as a key water quality metric. This study evaluates the hue angle methodology for monitoring water quality dynamics, using the Gulf of Izmit in the Sea of Marmara as a case study. We employed in-situ water quality measurements, spectroradiometer data, and Sentinel-2 satellite imagery from campaigns in October 2021 and 2022.

Influence of sarcopenia as determined by bioelectrical impedance analysis in acute pancreatitis.

Sarcopenia can be defined as the loss of muscle mass and strength. It is a poor prognostic factor for many diseases. Our study aims to assess the prevalence of sarcopenia in patients with acute pancreatitis using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) and hand dynamometry while also investigating its impact on acute pancreatitis.

Does thiol-disulphide balance in tissue and serum play a role in disease management in ureteropelvic junction stenosis?

Background: The study aimed at evaluating the role of thiol-disulphide balance parameters [native thiol (SH), total thiol (SH + SS), disulphide (SS), disulphide/native thiol ratio (% SS/SH), disulphide/total thiol ratio (% SS/Total Thiol) and native thiol/total thiol ratio (%SH/Total Thiol)], which are important oxidative stress markers in the congenital ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) stenosis, in the diagnosis of the disease, and its role in determining the need for surgery and follow-up.

Materials And Methods: This prospective study included 30 children diagnosed with congenital intrinsic ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) and a control group of 30 healthy children admitted to the pediatric clinic between January 2016 and February 2017. The children with UPJO underwent laparoscopic dismembered pyeloplasty.

As compared to conventional chest radiography and CT of the scan, sonography of the chest offers advantages. It could be demonstrated that it was even superior to chest radiography in the identification of pneumonic consolidations.

A rare cause of immune dysregulation, prolidase deficiency: a case report and review of the literature.

We report a pediatric patient with prolidase deficiency, caused by a mutation in the PEPD gene, which encodes the enzyme prolidase D, with a lupus-like clinic and marked dysmorphic features along with pulmonary, neurological, skeletal, and immune system involvement. In addition to being the first known case in the literature where Friedrich's ataxia and prolidase deficiency were observed together, we aimed to highlight that this diagnosis should be considered in patients with autoimmunity and additional systemic findings such as treatment-resistant skin lesions, intellectual disability, and pulmonary manifestations. Furthermore, we sought to compare this case with others documented in the literature.
