The Zintl compound CaAgSb was recently identified as a promising thermoelectric material with high hole mobility and low lattice thermal conductivity. The single parabolic band model predicts that a of ∼1 can be achieved if the carrier concentration can be tuned to ∼10 cm. However, the high inherent -type carrier concentration of ∼10 cm in CaAgSb has limited further optimization of in -type samples and has prevented -type doping.

Schwannomas commonly occur in the head and neck region but are rarely seen in the gastrointestinal tract; the stomach and small intestine are the most commonly involved sites. These tumors are usually misdiagnosed as gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) before histopathological confirmation due to radiological similarity. GI schwannomas show positivity for S100 protein and vimentin but are negative for CD 117 and CD 34, which helps in differentiating the tumor from GISTs.

Background: Liver retraction management in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is challenging for surgeons, especially in patients with enlarged livers. Traditional methods, such as the Nathanson retractor (NR), often necessitate additional incisions, potentially increasing liver enzymes and increasing the risk of complications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the use of a Veress needle (VN), an alternative liver retraction technique, in LSG surgery compared with NR.

The present study aimed to provide experimental evidence that CDELNs (coffee-derived exosome-like nanoparticles) may be a candidate for the treatment or prevention of amyloid-β (Aβ)-induced Alzheimer's disease (AD). An in vitro Alzheimer's model was created with Aβ-induced toxicity in mouse hippocampal neuronal cells (HT-22). Aβ(1-42)-exposed cells were treated with different concentrations of CDELNs (1-50 μg/ml) and the viability of cells was analyzed.

CCCH-type tandem zinc finger (TZF) motifs are found in many RNA-binding proteins involved in regulating mRNA stability, translation, and splicing. In , several RNA-binding proteins that regulate embryonic development and cell fate determination contain CCCH TZF domains, including POS-1. Previous biochemical studies have shown that despite high levels of sequence conservation, POS-1 recognizes a broader set of RNA sequences compared to the human homologue tristetraprolin.

Enabling light-controlled ionic devices requires insight into photoionic responses in technologically relevant materials. Mixed-conducting perovskites containing nondilute Fe─serving as electrodes, catalysts, and sensors─can support large, electronically accommodated excursions in oxygen content, typically controlled by temperature, bias, and gas atmosphere. Instead, we investigated the ability of low-fluence, above-bandgap illumination to adjust oxygen stoichiometry and drive oxygen fluxes in nondilute Sr(TiFe)O ( = 0.
