Objective: This study aims to determine the genotypic characteristics of Hereditary Spherocytosis (HS) patients in Turkiye and to examine the correlation between genotype and phenotype.
Materials And Methods: Herein we had 18 patients who were admitted to pediatric hematology outpatient clinic with hemolytic anemia, jaundice, cholelithiasis, and splenomegaly. According to the Eber's classification, the patients' clinical presentations were categorized as mild, moderate, and severe.

Purpose: Periarticular and generalized osteoporosis are well-known comorbidities of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), associated with either the disease itself or glucocorticoid therapy. This study was performed to quantitatively evaluate changes in the jawbones of patients with RA using fractal analysis (FA).
Materials And Methods: The study comprised 186 participants, including 144 women and 42 men.
In vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM) is a non-invasive imaging technique used to visualize the layers of the cornea and conjunctiva in real time. In patients with atopic keratoconjunctivitis (AKC) and vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC), this technology can be useful in diagnosing and monitoring the disease, as well as evaluating the efficacy of treatments. IVCM can reveal subclinical abnormalities in the corneal and conjunctival epithelium such as inflammatory cell infiltrates and tissue damage, which can provide insight into the pathogenesis of AKC.

Methods: This is a retrospective case-control study at the tertiary center, between January 2015 and January 2023. The study included APS cases and a low-risk control group.
Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of diabetes mellitus and cervical dilatation on cesarean section scar healing.
Material And Methods: This prospective study included pregnant women diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and healthy control pregnant women. The study group was divided into active labor and pre-active labor based on cervical dilatation, and the diabetic group was categorized into gestational diabetes and preexisting diabetes mellitus.
Objectives: Autistic children frequently exhibit irritability, which can manifest as aggression, self-injurious behaviour, and severe tantrums, leading to significant impairments. Two atypical antipsychotics have been licensed by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of irritability in autistic children, although a significant percentage of these children do not respond to this treatment. This study aimed to determine the frequency of drug refractory irritability (DRI) and identify the risk factors in a large clinical sample of autistic children.

There is a clear lack of understanding of which factors contribute to delays in the disclosure of CSA. Thus, we aimed to examine the risk factors and sociodemographic variables that may inhibit CSA disclosures.

Objective: This study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial to investigate the effect of breathing exercises on fatigue in patients diagnosed with tuberculosis.
Methods: The tuberculosis patients included in the study were divided into two groups: intervention (26) and control (28) by a program established after the power analysis. After the researcher informed the patients in the intervention group about breathing exercises, including diaphragmatic and pursed lip breathing, they were taught, and the first exercise was practiced.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the perinatal outcomes of triplet pregnancies reduced from triplets to twins with fetal reduction (FR), followed expectantly without FR, and reduced to triplets from higher-order multiple pregnancies (HOMP) with FR.
Materials And Methods: Multifetal pregnancies followed at the university hospital in the last 8 years were evaluated retrospectively. The study group was composed of three groups.
Purpose: This study aimed to compare cervical proprioception and related biomechanical factors among patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and asymptomatic controls.
Methods: In this case-control study, polysomnography scores (apnea-hypopnea index-AHI) were examined to determine the disease severity of the OSA group. Also, we evaluated cervical proprioception by using a laser pointer to detect joint repositioning error sense in cervical rotational movements.
Background: Identifying a foreign body aspiration (FBA) still remains a diagnostic difficulty. Moreover, the indications for bronchoscopy in subjects of suspected foreign bodies are not clear. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of pediatric pulmonologists in diagnosing FBA.

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of liver function test abnormalities on mortality in critically ill coronavirus disease- 2019 patients.
Methods: The single-centre, retrospective study was conducted at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation, Mersin City Training and Research Hospital, Turkiye, and comprised data from March 2020 to January 2022 of patients with positive real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test on nasopharyngeal swab sample for coronavirus disease-2019. Comorbidities, demographic data, admission to and discharge from the intensive care unit, Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II scores, complete blood count on the first and second day of hospitalisation, coagulation parameters, biochemical analysis, 7-day, 28-day and total mortality of the patients in the intensive care unit were recorded.

Objective: This study aims to define a new compression suture technique that is easy to apply and effective in stopping PPH immediately.
Study Design: This is a retrospective study of 22 women who received Acar's uterine compressive atony sutures at a single tertiary hospital between January 2021 and November 2023. Demographic and obstetric data were collected.
Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Nursing Activities Score.
Methods: To validate the Turkish version of the Nursing Activities Score, a sample comprising 30 adult intensive care patients and 30 nurses was employed. After a pilot study, the internal consistency, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, was found to be p = 0.
Background: The toxic effects of doxorubicin and cisplatin in various organs have been associated with oxidative stress. Studies have shown that Usnea longissima has strong antioxidant effects. This study aimed to investigate the protective effect of ethyl acetate extract from Usnea longissima (ULE), which is known to have strong antioxidant effects, on chemotherapeutic-induced heart, kidney, liver, and ovarian toxicity.

While AMH is considered a stable, cycle-independent marker, studies have shown it can exhibit significant fluctuations based on factors like age, reproductive stage, and menstrual cycle phase. The fluctuations in AMH levels can make it challenging to predict individual responses accurately, particularly when the AMH is not measured in the COS cycle.

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) have been implicated as a tumor microenvironment (TME) cell population, which may be playing a vital role in the inhibition of effective T cell responses in the prostate TME. In this manuscript, we leverage a novel microscale cell culture platform, known as Stacks, to investigate mono-, co-, and tri-culture TME models comprised of prostate tumor cell lines, primary macrophages, and autologous T cells from patients with prostate cancer. Through multiplexed analysis of these multi-cellular prostate tumor models, we capture a dynamic interaction between primary TAMs and activated T cells that resulted in reciprocal proinflammatory activation of both cell populations upon interaction.

Nevertheless, the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of uric acid on vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) through oxidative stress remain unclear. The aim of the present study was to investigate the dose- and time-dependent effects of uric acid on oxidative stress and p53 protein expression in VSMCs.

Objective: Breast cancer is among the highest causes of morbidity and mortality in women. Trastuzumab therapy, which is known to be significantly cardiotoxic, is mainly used to treat patients with resistant breast cancer, including estrogen receptor-positive type. We aimed to show the effects of trastuzumab therapy on endothelial functions of breast cancer patients.
