Staghorn calculi are branched stones which occupy a majority portion of the pelvicaliceal system. An untreated staghorn calculus over time can damage the kidney and deteriorate its function and/or cause life threatening sepsis. Total stone clearance is an important goal in order to eradicate any infective focus, relieve obstruction, prevent recurrence and preserve the kidney function.

Measures of microbial growth, used as indicators of cellular stress, are sometimes quantified at a single time-point. In reality, these measurements are compound representations of length of lag, exponential growth-rate, and other factors. Here, we investigate whether length of lag phase can act as a proxy for stress, using  a number of model systems (Aspergillus penicillioides; Bacillus subtilis; Escherichia coli; Eurotium amstelodami, E.

: To compare two retrieval incisions, Pfannenstiel vs iliac fossa incision, in terms of operative technique-related variables and variables related to patient satisfaction postoperatively, in patients undergoing laparoscopic donor nephrectomy (LDN). : This prospective randomised study was conducted between May 2016 and April 2017. All the voluntary kidney donors aged 18-60 years were randomised into two groups.

The crude polysaccharide was extracted from Grateloupia lithophila through hot-water extraction and deproteinization. Further, fractionated by anion-exchange column using Q-Sepharose and purified by gel-permeation chromatography using Sepharose 4-LB column. The crude and purified polysaccharide contains high carbohydrate (75.

Objective: To describe our experience and results of using the MicroPerc™ micropercutaneous nephrolithotomy armamentarium (PolyDiagnost, Germany) for unusual indications unexplored using this modality.

Patients And Methods: We used the MicroPerc™ system for stone clearance in three ureteric calculi, two bladder calculi, one case of urethral calculus, for antegrade biopsy in a case of upper tract urothelial carcinoma, for Deflux® (dextranomer/hyaluronic copolymer, Salix Pharmaceuticals, Uppsala, Sweden) injection in three cases of vesico-ureteric reflux (VUR), and three cases of posterior urethral valve (PUV) fulgurations. A 4.

The coordination of therapeutically interesting designed complexes of stoichiometry [ML(Met)Cl2] [where M=Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Mn(II) and Zn(II), L=benzylidene-4-aminoantipyrine and Met=methionine] has been ascertained on the basis of physicochemical techniques. Their interaction with CT DNA reveals that they are good intercalators. The anticancer mechanism of our complexes is documented from their enhanced DNA splitting personalities under physiological conditions.

Transitional-cell carcinoma (TCC) of the upper tract in a case of circumcaval ureter (CCU) is a rare entity. Laparoscopic transperitoneal nephroureterectomy in such case represents a unique challenge in the era of minimally invasive surgery. We report a case of complete transperitoneal laparoscopic nephroureterectomy with bladder cuff excision done for TCC in a case of CCU.

This research work reports the in vitro antitumor personality of few novel peptide nanocomplexes synthesized via a phase-assisted, modified Brust-Schiffrin methodology. Here, a series of metallo(copper, cobalt, nickel and zinc) nanocomplexes engineered with a pre-prepared peptide [N,N'-(1,2-ethylene)-bis-hippuricamide] have been synthesized for damaging the Dalton's lymphoma ascites tumor model. All the peptide nanocomplexes are spectrally, thermally and morphologically examined.

Present study reports a green chemistry approach for the biological synthesis of silver nanoparticles using the aqueous leaf extract of Pithecellobium dulce, which acts as a reducing and capping agent. It is observed that use of P. dulce leaf extract makes a fast, environmentally benign and convenient method for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles and can reduce silver ions into silver nanoparticles.

The goal of nanomaterials' surface modification using a biomaterial is to preserve the materials' bulk properties while modifying only their surface to possess desired recognition and specificity. Here, we have developed a phase-assisted, modified Brust-Schiffrin methodological synthesis of metallo nanocomplexes anchored by a peptide, N,N'-(1,3-propylene)-bis-hippuricamide. The spectral, thermal and morphological characterizations assure the formation of nanocomplexes.

A new ligand [C28H20N6O8] (L2) has been synthesized by the condensation reaction of 3-hydroxy-4-nitrobenzaldehydenephenylhydrazine (L1) with diethyloxalate. This ligand L2 is allowed to react with bis(ethylenediamine)Cu(II)/Ni(II)/Zn(II) complexes. It affords [(L2)Cu(en)2]Cl2(1)/[(L2)Ni(en)2]Cl2(2)/[(L2)Zn(en)2]Cl2(3) complexes, respectively.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to assess the success and predictability of root coverage and esthetics obtained with free gingival grafts (FGGs) in the treatment of early class III gingival recessions for a period of 12 months.

Materials And Methods: Ten patients contributed to 12 sites, each with early class III recession with interdental bone loss < or = 4 mm from cemento enamel junction(CEJ). Clinical parameters recorded at baseline and at 1, 6, and 12 months were probing depth (PD), recession depth (RD), recession width (RW), and clinical attachment level (CAL).

Five Indian isolates of egg drop syndrome (EDS) 1976 virus and the reference strain 127 were compared by restriction enzyme analysis of viral DNA, and the hexon gene amplified by polymerase chain reaction. Using these techniques, no differences were seen among these viruses. However, partial sequencing of the hexon gene revealed major differences (4.
