Normative Data of Thyroid Gland Volume in South Indian Neonates and Infants.

Objective: To establish normative ultrasound data for thyroid gland volume in South Indian neonates and infants and compare with abnormal sonological features of thyroid in congenital hypothyroidism (CH) to explore thyroid ultrasound utility as a supportive screening tool to newborn screening programs for early detection of CH.

Methods: In view of impact of geo ethnic factors, varying growth velocities and body mass indices of human population worldwide, specific regional, age and gender related reference data for thyroid gland size and volume are vital. This study was an offshoot of ICMR pilot New Born Screening (NBS) project for CH.

Normative data for stretched penile length in term neonates born in Tamil Nadu.

Aim: To establish normative data for stretched penile length (SPL) in term male neonates born in Tamil Nadu.

Materials And Methods: All live term male neonates delivered in a hospital during a given period were included. SPL was measured from the pubic ramus to the tip of the glans.

Background: Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) induces degenerative, proliferative and malignant hematologic disorders in its natural host, the domestic cat. FeLV-945 is a viral variant identified as predominant in a cohort of naturally infected animals. FeLV-945 contains a unique sequence motif in the long terminal repeat (LTR) comprised of a single copy of transcriptional enhancer followed by a 21-bp sequence triplicated in tandem.
