Endophytes isolated from seaweeds emerge as promising biocontrol agents against broad spectrum of plant diseases. The endophytic bacteria were isolated from the seaweed (Sargassum wightii) to manage the chilli fruit rot pathogen Fusarium incarnatum. The antifungal activity of the isolated bacteria was tested by dual culture assay and plant growth-promoting activity was also tested by the standard paper towel method.

Separated instrument retrieval is definitely challenging and technique sensitive, requiring a lot of clinical expertise for a successful therapy. All these hurdles make such cases a nightmare to the clinician.

Although some chemotherapy drugs have been reported for prostate cancer, they are not effective due to the lack of safety, efficacy and low selectivity. Hence, the novel alternative anticancer agents with remarkable effect are highly appreciable.

This article unpacks the impact of Covid-19 on healthcare systems in India by raising moral and ethical questions about the plight of patients with other medical conditions while accessing care. This article also proposes a set of actions by which healthcare systems can address Covid and non-Covid related healthcare needs.

The anti-proliferative effect of the compound HTMF was confirmed using MTT cytotoxicity assay. Increased apoptotic induction by HTMF was demonstrated by acridine orange/ethidium bromide (AO/EtBr) and Hoechst 33258 staining studies.

The syntheses and crystal structures of the isomeric 4-bromo--[(2-nitro-phen-yl)sulfon-yl]benzamide, (I), and 4-bromo--[(4-nitro-phen-yl)sulfon-yl]benzamide, (II), are described (mol-ecular formula = CHBrNOS in each case). The asymmetric unit of (I) contains two independent mol-ecules [(I) and (I)], while that of (II) contains one mol-ecule. The benzoic acid aromatic ring of mol-ecule (I) is disordered due to rotation about the C-C(=O) bond over two orientations in a 0.

The current study was carried out to investigate the binding mechanism of a potential flavonoid compound 5-hydroxy-3',4',7-trimethoxyflavone (HTMF) with bovine serum albumin (BSA) using ultraviolet-visible, fluorescence, circular dichroism (CD) spectral measurements along with molecular docking and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. It was confirmed from fluorescence spectra that the intrinsic fluorescence of BSA was robustly quenched by HTMF through a static quenching mechanism. The number of binding sites (n) for HTMF binding on BSA was found to be about one.

The malfunction of KIT gene results in constitutive activation of the tyrosine kinase activity of c-KIT which is believed to be the major oncogenic event in stomach, small intestine mastocytosis, acute leukemias, melanomas and colon tumors. The genetics of these diseases could be better understood by knowing the functional relevance of their SNP variation.
