Fine needle aspiration in chronic tonsillitis: reliable and valid diagnostic test.

Fine needle aspiration (FNA) of the tonsil as a diagnostic tool in evaluating the microflora in chronic tonsillitis has not been popularized. A prospective study of 30 patients with chronic tonsillitis undergoing tonsillectomy was undertaken. FNA of the tonsil core was done under local/general anaesthesia.
