[Medico-social and clinico-biochemical aspects of longevity in Siberia].

Over 90-year old inhabitants of districts of Novosibirsk were questioned in connection with sociological studies about their living habits. The authors consider the genetically determined system of monooxygenases for the elimination of foreign bodies (xenobiotics) to be important, but they are also involved in the synthesis of biologically active substances in the organism and thus by no means of minor importance to the phenomenon of longevity.

[Follow-up of patients with neurosis-like stuttering].

Clinico-catamnestic and logopedic examinations were carried out in 125 patients who had been suffering from grave neurosis-like spasmophemia since the speech mastering. By the time of the examination the patients' average age was 20 years. The examinations have shown that in 59%, of the patients the spasmophemia has ceased; 22% have had a considerable improvement; in 10% there was a slight improvement, and 9% showed no improvement at all.

[Indirect method of determining drug-metabolizing enzyme activity and its clinical application].

Activity of microsomal enzymes was studied using an indirect method for estimation of the rate of antipyrine secretion with saliva in 70 healthy persons at the age from 16 to 86 years.
