- Bullous scabies (BS) is an atypical form of scabies that predominantly affects elderly males, characterized by severe itching, blistering, and potential secondary bacterial infections.* -
- The diagnosis of BS can often be confusing and delayed, with very few cases reported in children worldwide.* -
- This synopsis includes a case of an eight-year-old boy from Pakistan who was successfully treated with 5% topical permethrin and 2% mupirocin, resulting in complete healing within four weeks.*
Objective: To document the frequency, clinical presentation, outcome and spectrum of species in Candida blood stream infection.
Methods: A prospective, descriptive cohort study was conducted from June 1st till November 30th 2012 at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation in Karachi, Pakistan. All patients > or = 15 years of age from nephrology, urology, gastroenterology, oncology or intensive care units with candidemia were included.
