Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) has revolutionized the therapeutic landscape across various cancer types. However, the emergence of resistance to ICB therapy limits its clinical application. Therefore, it is necessary to better understand immune-resistance mechanisms that could be targeted by actionable drugs, and important to identify predictive markers for selecting patients.

However, UCNPs with long lifetimes continue to face the limitation that they are usually accompanied by weak luminescence intensity, resulting in difficulties in achieving high-resolution and sensitive time-gated imaging. To overcome this limitation, we have developed NIR long-lifetime luminescent nanoparticles (NLL NPs) with strong 800 nm emission by adding a photosensitizing shell and with a prolonged lifetime by lowering the activator concentration.

Methods: We conducted a self-controlled case series analysis using a large-linked database that connects the COVID-19 immunization registry with nationwide claims data. We identified individuals aged < 18 years who received their initial COVID-19 vaccination and had a KD/MIS-C diagnosis with a prescription for intravenous immunoglobulin or corticosteroids between October 18, 2021, and April 15, 2023.

A sustainability perspective on careers builds a resilient career system by simultaneously considering individual's current career needs and long-term career outcomes. The individual career agent's strategy for achieving a sustainable career is a powerful approach to career development in an environment where an individual's proactive career competencies are emphasized. Mid-career individuals, especially those facing career transitions, need to increase their sustainability by maintaining, renewing, and developing their current careers.

In order to survey novel hydrolytic enzymes, we constructed a fosmid metagenome library using unculturable intestinal microorganisms from . Through functional screening of the library on carboxymethyl cellulose plates, we identified a fosmid clone, the product of which displayed hydrolytic activity.

Purpose: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition influenced by various factors, such as the skin microbiome and metabolome. However, specific contributions of these factors to scalp involvement in AD still need to be explored. In this study, we aimed to assess the associations between the skin microbiome and metabolome in AD patients with scalp dermatitis and healthy controls (HCs).

MDR affects drug dosage regimens and enables the recurrence and metastasis of cancer. Because DOX causes severe side effects at high dosages, it is important to use an MDR modulator to make cancer cells sensitive to DOX.

Therefore, we developed a monoclonal antibody (mAb) against the spike (S) protein of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron for therapeutic applications. We established the 1E3H12 mAb, recognizing the receptor binding domain (RBD) of the Omicron S protein, and found that the 1E3H12 mAb can efficiently recognize the Omicron S protein with weak affinity to the Alpha, Beta, and Mu variants, but not to the parental strain and Delta variant.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) play pivotal roles in intercellular communication and are implicated in numerous physiological and pathological processes. Here, we introduce a quantitative technique using total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRFm)-based single vesicle analysis (SVA) to assess EV aggregation, a critical factor influencing their biological functionality. Employing two-colored fluorescent recombinant EV mixtures, this method enables precise discrimination between aggregated and non-aggregated EVs.

Localization is both dynamic and context specific and mislocalization underlies a multitude of diseases. It is thus vital to be able to measure the components of higher-order protein complexes and their subcellular location dynamically in order to fully understand cell biological processes.

Nitric oxide (NO) is a gaseous molecule intricately implicated in oncologic processes, encompassing the modulation of angiogenesis and instigating apoptosis. Investigation of the antitumor effects of NO is currently underway, necessitating a detailed understanding of its cellular-level reactions. Regulating the behavior of radical NO species has been a significant challenge, primarily due to its instability in aqueous environments by rapid O-induced degradation.

However, discrepancies between the types of LiDAR sensors used for training the network and those deployed in real-world driving environments can lead to performance degradation due to differences in the input tensor attributes, such as x, y, and z coordinates, and intensity. To address this issue, we propose novel intensity rendering and data interpolation techniques.
