According to the data sets of fine particulate matter (PM) and its components in 35 cities in the Huaihe River Basin from 2015 to 2021, the temporal and spatial distribution patterns of pollutants were analyzed. The influence of meteorological factors on PM concentrations was examined using a random forest model. The original series of PM, sulfate (SO), nitrate (NO), ammonium salt (NH), organic matter (OM), and black carbon (BC) were rebuilt using KZ (Kolmogorov-Zurbenko) filtering and multiple linear regression (MLR) to quantify the effects of meteorological conditions.

Clarifying the regional transmission and local generation contributions of ozone (O) is important for controlling O pollution. To quantify the regional background and spatial-temporal variations of O, a comprehensive study was conducted using multiple methods including principal component analysis (PCA) and TCEQ, with Henan Province as a case study. Based on monitoring data from 59 national sites in Henan Province during 2019-2021, four methods were employed to estimate the regional background of O.

Kolmogorov-Zurbenko (KZ) filtering was employed to separate the original O-8h series into components at different time scales. Then, multiple linear regression of meteorological variables was used to quantitatively isolate the effects of meteorology and emissions.

Long term exposure to PM might harm residential health and can increase premature death from specific diseases. The annual average concentration of PM in Zhengzhou was much higher than the national secondary standard, which has an extremely negative impact on the health of residents.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAir pollution in Henan province is serious and is significantly impacted by pollution transmission and interactions with surrounding areas. The emission sources in 18 cities in Henan province were labeled and applied to the WRF-CMAQ traceability model for simulation in January, April, July, and October of 2017. The pollutant distribution results showed that due to the combined influence of emissions and meteorology, the concentrations of PM, NO, and SO in Henan province were the highest in winter and the lowest in summer.

The positive matrix factorization (PMF) model was also applied to identify the sources of PM, and the effect of air quality control was evaluated to provide support for air quality control in autumn and winter in the next stage. The PM concentrations in the four seasons in Zhengzhou were ranked as winter > autumn > spring > summer.

The relative contributions of changes in four factors related to the PM health burden were also quantified, namely total population, population aging, baseline mortality rates, and ambient exposure. The results show that the population weighted PM concentration decreased by 28.

Three cases, including before emission reduction (August 5-24), during emission reduction (August 25 to September 18), and after emission reduction (September 19-30), were classified by the implementation of control measures. The results show that the growing concentration of PM after the cancellation of emission abatement measures (11.

The results showed that the O concentration in Anyang increased significantly between 2014 and 2017, whereby pollution started to advance from 2015 and the earliest occurrence of an O pollution episode was in April 2017. The 90 percentile and average concentrations of O in the industrial zone increased at faster rates (average annual growth of 16.

Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between NAFLD and hypertension in a middle-aged Chinese population. The study subject was (a group of) 1006 Chinese adults aged 45-60 y in Shandong Province who participated in the Weifang Nutrition and Health Survey (2014-2015).

Bibliographic databases were exhaustively searched for studies relevant to the research topic. Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) criteria, combined with the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies (QUADAS), were applied for study quality assessment.

Elucidation of the mechanisms underlying malignancy in HCC is needed to improve diagnosis, therapy, and prognosis. Previously, we showed that transforming growth factor β-interacting factor (TGIF) antagonizes arsenic trioxide-induced apoptosis of HepG2 cells and is associated with poor prognosis and progression of urothelial carcinoma in patients after radical nephroureterectomy.

Previous mouse studies using high-density oligonucleotide array analysis have confirmed the upregulation of transforming growth-interacting factor (TGIF) mRNA in TBI. TGIF is a transcriptional corepressor of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) signaling which plays a protective role in TBI.

Irradiation of (2R,4R)-(-)- and (2S,4S)-(+)-2,4-pentanediyl-bis-2-naphthoates (1R and 1S, respectively) in organic solutions exclusively results in cubane-like anti(HH) photodimers in 100% yield. Asymmetric induction with 100% diastereometric excess (de) has been achieved and the absolute configuration of the yielded diastereomers has been established. Moreover, irradiation of (2R,4S)-2,4-pentanediyl-bis-2-naphthoate (1M) gives cubane-like syn(HH) photodimers in 100% yield.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIrradiations of alkyl 2-naphthoates are known to result in four isomeric "cubane-like" photodimers: anti(HH)-2, syn(HH)-2, anti(HT)-2, and syn(HT)-2 where the anti(HH)-2, anti(HT)-2, and syn(HT)-2 consist of pairs of diastereomers. Here, chiral auxiliary and chiral microreactor strategies have been combined to achieve high diastereoselectivity in photodimerizations of an enantiomeric pair of 2-naphthoates with (R)- and (S)-1-methoxycarbonylethyl esters as chiral auxiliaries (1R and 1S). Thus, irradiations of their γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) complexes have been conducted.

The optically pure enantiomers of the intermediate 2 have been achieved by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) resolution on a chiralcel OJ-RH column. Comparison of the enantiomeric excess (ee) values for photocyclodimer 1 and the intermediate 2 obtained in gamma-CD aqueous solution reveals the stepwise photochemical-chiral delivery for the first time, which is recognized to be a consequence of an in situ increase in the ee value from 39% for the [4 + 4] intermediate 2 to 48% for photocyclodimer 1 upon irradiation of 2,3-NA in the presence of gamma-CD.
