Cutis aplasia is a rare condition characterized by skin and subcutaneous tissue defects. Researchers have previously described both conservative and surgical management methods. We report herein the case of a neonate with extensive cutis aplasia involving 37% of the total body surface area.

Background And Aims: Lower extremity amputation (LEA) is a commonly performed surgery and is associated with significant mortality and morbidity. This review compares the impact of anaesthetic technique on 30-day mortality and other perioperative outcomes in patients undergoing LEA.

Vasospasm and consequent cerebral ischaemia in aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage are well-described. The development of cerebral ischaemia following pituitary tumour surgery is under-appreciated, and can be attributed to mainly cerebral vasospasm or internal carotid artery compression. We report on two patients with pituitary tumours who developed delayed cerebral ischaemia after transsphenoidal and transcranial pituitary macroadenoma decompression.
