Liquid-based Cytological Features of Adenocarcinoma Not Otherwise Specified, Extrauterine Adenocarcinoma, and Other Malignant Neoplasms of The Uterine Cervix: A 5-year Single-institutional Experience With 30 Consecutive Patients.

Background/aim: The adenocarcinoma (ADC) and other malignant neoplasm (OMN) terminologies of The Bethesda System represent various histological types of uterine and extrauterine malignancies. This study aimed to clarify the incidences of ADC not otherwise specified (ADC-NOS), ADC extrauterine (ADC-EXT), and OMN in our institution and describe their characteristic cytomorphological features.

Patients And Methods: We searched the database to identify all patients diagnosed with carcinoma, including those diagnosed through cervical liquid-based cytology (LBC), between January 2019 and December 2023.

Comparison of Clinicopathological and Prognostic Characteristics Between Minimal Deviation Adenocarcinoma and Gastric-type Endocervical Adenocarcinoma.

Background/aim: Minimal deviation adenocarcinoma (MDA) is an extremely well-differentiated variant of gastric-type endocervical adenocarcinoma (GEA). This study compared the clinicopathological and prognostic characteristics of MDA to those of GEA.

Association of PTTG1 expression with invasiveness of non-functioning pituitary adenomas.

Background: Pituitary tumor transforming gene 1 (PTTG1), paired-like homeodomain 2 (PITX2), and galectin-3 have been widely studied as predictive biomarkers for various tumors and are involved in tumorigenesis and tumor progression. We evaluated the usefulness of PTTG1, PITX2, and galectin-3 as predictive biomarkers for invasive non-functioning pituitary adenomas (NFPAs) by determining the relationship between the expressions of these three proteins and the invasiveness of the NFPAs. We also investigated whether PTTG1, E-cadherin, and Ki-67, which are known to be related to each other, show a correlation with NFPA features.
