Background/aim: NUAK family kinase 2 (NUAK2) is a promising target for cancer therapeutics due to its reported role in protein phosphorylation, a critical process in cancer cell survival, proliferation, invasion, and senescence. Delayed periocular dermatitis as a rare side-effect of topical anti-glaucoma eyedrop instillation in two Shih-Tzu dogs with atopic dermatitis.

Two Shih-Tzu dogs with atopic dermatitis presented with delayed periocular dermatitis (PD) following the instillation of dorzolamide and dorzolamide/timolol combination eyedrops; the development of dermatologic signs took 94 and 104 d in cases 1 and 2, respectively. Hypersensitivity to anti-glaucoma eyedrops was highly suspected, and treatment was discontinued. Delayed PD was significantly relieved in cases 1 and 2, at days 155 and 64 after discontinuation, respectively.

Fulminant lymphocytic myocarditis associated with orbital myositis and diaphragmatic paralysis.

Although the clinical presentation of myocarditis is very diverse, ranging from mild dyspnea to hemodynamic collapse, myocarditis accompanied with extracardiac myositis is extremely rare. We report a single case of fulminant myocarditis associated with orbital myositis and diaphragmatic paralysis in a 40-year-old man, which was successfully managed by immunosuppressive therapy with steroid.

Methods: This retrospective, non randomized comparative study involved 42 eyes from 21 patients with thyroid ophthalmopathy who underwent orbital decompression surgery between September 2011 and September 2014. The 42 eyes were divided into three groups: control (9 eyes), two-wall decompression (25 eyes), and three-wall decompression (8 eyes).

Clinical Significance of Dynamic Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction During Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography in Women With Suspected Coronary Artery Disease.

Background: Although dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) is frequently associated with dynamic left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (DLVOTO), little is known about its clinical significance in women with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD).
