Purpose: More than 20% of prescription errors in hospitals are due to an incomplete medication history. Medication reconciliation is a solution to decrease unintentional discrepancies between medications taken at home and hospital prescriptions. It is a normalised clinical activity but it is time consuming.

Intrinsic Capacity (IC) has been proposed by the World Health Organization as a marker of healthy aging, based on individual's functional abilities and intended at preserving successful aging. We aimed to investigate the association of visit-to-visit BPV with IC decline in a population of community-dwelling older adults.

Cerebrovascular regulation and cardiovascular autonomic regulation, more specifically the sympatho-vagal balance, can be altered in SCD. In this study the association between WMLs, cerebrovascular regulation and sympatho-vagal balance was assessed in SCD patients.

Few studies have investigated their association with cognition, particularly for OHYPER, an emerging cardiovascular risk factor. We aimed to assess the association between OHYPO, OHYPER and cognition in non-institutionalized older subjects.

The explicit criteria included five different lists: Beers, Laroche, European Union (EU(7)-PIM list), STOPP/ START, STOPP Frail, and Alert and Mastering of Iatrogenesis issued by the French High Authority of Health. We also performed a sensitivity analysis to compare the potentially inappropriate medications according to each criterion.

Vascular aging is associated with chronic low-grade inflammation occurring in late life, known as "inflammaging" and the hallmark "mitochondrial dysfunction" due to age-related stress. We aimed to determine whether plasma levels of the pleiotropic stress-related mitokine growth/differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15) and two inflammatory biomarkers, interleukin 6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNFR-1), are associated with visit-to-visit BPV in a population of community-dwelling older adults.

In this work, hybrid nanogels based on mesoporous silica nanoparticles, oligo (ethylene glycol) methacrylates, and acidic moieties were developed employing ultrasound-assisted free radical precipitation/dispersion polymerization. Chemical structure was characterized by infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance.

Owing to this, developing high-performance systems capable of coping with the challenging requirements of modern ionizing radiation is a key issue to overcome the limitations of traditional dosimeters. In this regard, a deep understanding of the physicochemical basis of gel dosimetry, as one of the most promising tools for the evaluation of 3D high-spatial-resolution dose distributions, represents the starting point for developing new and innovative systems.

However, the limitation of human resources requires optimization of the process in order to improve the efficiency of pharmaceutical activities. The objective was to build a decision tree to optimize the pharmaceutical consultation in these population within a multidisciplinary team in haematology.

The introduction of TT in oncology has profoundly changed the prognosis of many cancers but also introduced a wide variety of adverse drugs reactions (ADR), including in particular dermatological adverse drug reactions (DADRs). We investigated the evolutions of the notifications of DADRs of anticancer drugs since 2000s in international pharmacovigilance data.

These hybrid nanocarriers present several advantages such as outstanding properties for guided therapy, magnetic resonance imaging, and triggered release of encapsulated cargoes. Most magnetic thermoresponsive nanogels are built with strategies that comprise a physical interaction of particles with the polymeric network or the covalent attachment of a single particle to the linear polymer.

In this work, monodispersed NGs based on oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylates (OEG) were synthesized through free radical precipitation/dispersion polymerization assisted by ultrasonication. Di(ethylene glycol)methyl ether methacrylate (DEGMA) and oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (OEGMA; Mn 475 g mol-1) were used as the main monomers, acrylic acid (AA) or itaconic acid (IA) as co-monomers (OEG-co-AA and OEG-co-IA, respectively) and tetraethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) as crosslinker.

Specifically, when a precise segmentation result is desired for a small amount of given data sets, semi-automatic methods exhibit a clear benefit for the user. The optimization of human computer interaction (HCI) is an essential part of interactive image segmentation.

An anomalous preeminence of AgNP nucleation over growth is found for conditions under which the opposite trend is obeyed for AgNP synthesized from soluble precursors in homogeneous media. The behavior is modeled assuming the formation of a tridimensional supramolecular structure from silver ions / CS´s amino groups coordination complexes, driving the crosslinking within polymer folding and aggregation in shaping random coils.

Purpose: Morphological changes to anatomy resulting from invasive surgical procedures or pathology, typically alter the surrounding vasculature. This makes it useful as a descriptor for feature-driven image registration in various clinical applications. However, registration of vasculature remains challenging, as vessels often differ in size and shape, and may even miss branches, due to surgical interventions or pathological changes.

Samples of polymer gel dosimeters are commonly read out using magnetic resonance imaging or optical methods like visible light transmission or laser computed tomography. Alternatively, this work proposes and evaluates the implementation of Raman spectroscopy to provide direct information on the effect of oxygen permeating through the walls of phantoms on the polymerization initiated by irradiation in three types of polymer gel dosimeters, namely NIPAM, ITABIS and PAGAT.
