Background: Neonates with congenital anomalies frequently require perioperative allogeneic red blood cell (RBC) transfusion. Whole cord blood for autologous transfusion to neonates may provide an alternative RBC source, but whether sufficient volumes can be collected after delayed cord clamping to reduce allogeneic RBC requirements is unknown.
Study Design And Methods: Inclusion criteria were mothers delivering a viable infant >34 weeks' gestation.
Objectives: To prospectively compare systemic anti-tumour immune responses induced by irreversible electroporation (IRE) and robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) in patients with localised intermediate-risk prostate cancer (PCa).
Patients And Methods: Between February 2021 and June 2022, before and after treatment (at 5, 14 and 30 days) peripheral blood samples of 30 patients with localised PCa were prospectively collected. Patient inclusion criteria were: International Society of Urological Pathologists Grade 2-3, clinical cancer stage ≤T2c, prostate-specific antigen level <20 ng/mL).

Objective: To review the literature on salvage treatments after focal therapy (FT) for prostate cancer (PCa).
Materials And Methods: A non-systematic literature review was conducted on PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science up to March 15, 2024, for studies that assessed salvage treatment outcomes in patients with recurrent PCa after primary FT. Original prospective and retrospective studies with more than 10 patients were included.
Despite a high detection rate of Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT in biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer, a significant proportion of men have negative Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT results. Gastrin-releasing peptide receptor, targeted by the copper-chelated bombesin analog Cu-sarcophagine-bombesin (SAR-BBN) PET/CT, is also overexpressed in prostate cancer. In this prospective imaging study, we investigate the detection rate of Cu-SAR-BBN PET/CT in patients with BCR and negative or equivocal Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT results.

Most notably, data is lacking with regards to this tumour evolutionary phenomenon and PCa racial disparities, with African men disproportionately impacted. Here through comparison between African (n = 109) and non-African (n = 79) whole genome sequenced treatment naïve primary tumours, using a single analytical workflow we assessed for shared and unique features of kataegis.

Lack of representation in genomic data means germline testing guidelines exclude for African men. Established that structural variations (SVs) are major contributors to human disease and prostate tumourigenesis, their role is under-appreciated in familial and therapeutic testing.

The PRIMARY score (prostate-specific membrane antigen [PSMA]-positron emission tomography [PET]/CT) also has high diagnostic accuracy for csPCa. This study aimed to develop an easily calculated combined (P) score for csPCa detection (International Society of Urological Pathology [ISUP] ≥2) incorporating separately read PI-RADS and PRIMARY scores, with external validation.

In turn, genomic instability is a hallmark of cancer-implicating telomere disturbance. Prostate cancer (PCa) shows significant ancestral disparities, with men of African ancestry at the greatest risk for aggressive disease and associated genomic instability.

Succeeding the popular HumanMethylationEPIC BeadChip (EPICv1), the recently released Infinium MethylationEPIC v2.0 BeadChip (EPICv2) claims to extend genomic coverage to more than 935,000 CpG sites.

Additionally, we analyzed toxicity in patients receiving treatment.
Methods: Seven patients were treated with MRgART.
Background: This systematic review describes the most common methodologies for immortalizing human and animal mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). This study follows the rules of PRISMA and is registered in the Institutional Review Board of PROSPERO International of systematic reviews, numbered protocol code: CRD42020202465.
Method: The data search systematization was based on the words "mesenchymal stem cell" AND "immortalization.
Introduction: Neonates have a high incidence of respiratory and cardiac perioperative events. Disease severity and indications for surgical intervention often dovetail with an overall complex clinical course and predispose these infants to adverse long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes and increased length of stay. Our aims were to describe severe and nonsevere early postoperative complications to establish a baseline of care outcomes and to identify subgroups of surgical neonates and procedures for future prospective studies.

Development of a predictive model is an initial step toward reducing its occurrence. This study aimed to apply machine learning (ML) methods to a large clinical dataset to develop a predictive model for pediatric emergence delirium.

The PRIMARY trial demonstrated that [Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) was associated with a significant improvement in sensitivity and negative predictive value for sPCa detection.
Objective: To demonstrate that addition of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) radioligand PET/CT will enable some men to avoid transperineal prostate biopsy without missing sPCa, and will facilitate biopsy targeting of PSMA-avid sites.
The PRIMARY score is a 5-category scale developed to identify clinically significant intraprostate malignancy (csPCa) on Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-11 PET/CT (Ga-PSMA PET) using a combination of anatomic site, pattern, and intensity. Developed within the PRIMARY trial, the score requires evaluation in external datasets. This study aimed to assess the reproducibility and diagnostic accuracy of the PRIMARY score in a cohort of patients who underwent multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) and Ga-PSMA PET before prostate biopsy for the diagnosis of prostate cancer.

A Delphi consensus was conducted to explore expert views in this emerging field and to identify knowledge and evidence gaps as well as unmet research needs that may help change practice and improve oncological outcomes for patients.
Methods: One hundred and five statements (scored by a 9-point Likert scale) were distributed through SurveyMonkey®.
Background: In active surveillance there is significant interest in whether imaging modalities such as multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) or Gallium prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computerized tomography (Ga-PSMA-PET/CT) can improve the detection of progression to clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) and thus reduce the frequency of prostate biopsies and associated morbidity. Recent studies have demonstrated the value of mpMRI in active surveillance; however, mpMRI does miss a proportion of disease progression and thus alone cannot replace biopsy. To date, prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography (PSMA-PET) has shown additive value to mpMRI in its ability to detect prostate cancer (PCa) in the primary diagnostic setting.

Patients And Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis on a multicentre cohort (private and institutional) of 138 patients who underwent multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI), PSMA-PET, and systematic biopsies prior to radical prostatectomy between January 2011 and July 2021. Patients were eligible when they met the consensus criteria for FT: PSA <15 ng/mL, clinical/radiological T stage ≤T2b, and International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grade 2-3.

Clinical registries are multicenter prospective observational datasets that have been used to examine current perioperative practices in pediatric anesthesia. These datasets have proven useful in quantifying the incidence of rare adverse outcomes. Data from registries can highlight associations between severe patient safety events and patient and procedure-related risk factors.
