24-hour hypokinetic stress expressed in decrease of sensitivity of cellular and humoral immu nity to subsequent immunization with sheep erythrocytes was studied. The development of this phenomenon is associated with sensitization of lymphoid tissue to hypoplasia effect of glycocorticoid hormones. In introduction of glycocorticoid stress, the animals revealed a more pronounced depression of proliferative activity of thymocytes compared with non stressed animals.

The content of L-lymphocytes in patients with different clinical forms of brucellosis has been studied. The degree of a decrease in the level of these cells has been found to depend on the activity of the infectious process and its clinical manifestations in the form of polyarthritis. The severity of the course of acute and subacute brucellosis has been found to produce no essential influence on the level of L-cells.

Experiments were carried out to study the formation of extracellular protease by the suspension from Bacillus subtilis str. 103 washed cells selected at the growth stages characterized by the highest rate of the enzyme synthesis (after 12 and 35 hours). In relation to the protein and RNA synthesis as measured by 14C-valine and 14C-uracyl the cells of that age showed a high metabolic activity.

The highest proteolytic activity was obtained on the medium containing maltose or hydrolyzed starch as a carbon source, monopotassium phosphate as a phosphorus source, and ammonium sulphate as a nitrogen source.

Quantitative content of T- and B-lymphocytes in the peripheral blood was studied after Mendes in 30 patients suffering from chronic opisthorcosis and in 30 practically healthy persons; immunoglobulins--M, G, and A were examined after Mancini, and the presence of autoantibodies in the blood serum was studied by indirect method of mast cells degranulation. There was revealed a reduction of the T-cell count to 28.8 +/- 2.

The work has employed a combination of microscopic observation, filming and computer processing of the data obtained. The proper time, rate and latent period of fixation with ethanol of different concentration were analyzed in the isolated surviving neuron. The temporal parameters of fixation were shown to depend on the size of the neuron and the concentration of the fixator.
