Animal welfare legislation routinely places obligations on owners of animals to take action to ensure that the welfare of the animal(s) is protected. Such legislation often requires animals to be sheltered by appropriate housing. Where facilities are built to provide animal housing it may be necessary to seek planning permission for the development, this is particularly an issue in relation to commercial facilities.

This study used a discrete choice experiment to assess preferences for differentiated HIV treatment delivery model characteristics among 500 virally suppressed adults on antiretroviral therapy in Harare, Zimbabwe. Treatment model characteristics included location, consultation type, healthcare worker cadre, operation times, visit frequency and duration, and cost.

Methods: This case-control study was conducted over a three-year period in four French sleep centers during a 4∗40 min MWT in patients driving more than 5000 Km/year. Relationship between mean sleep latency on the MWT (MWT latency) and age, sex, driving, sleepiness-related near misses and accidents reported during the previous year, and sleep disorder characteristics was analyzed.
Introduction: Self-reported cognitive deficits in adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity-Disorder (ADHD) are often not corroborated by standardized tests. Tests and reports also differ in their correspondence to aspects of psychosocial functioning. Executive function tasks (EF-tasks) using material close to daily life, may provide a more ecologically-valid assessment of cognitive deficits.

However, current gaze-based measures employ visual comparisons limited to two simultaneous items. With this limitation, the degree of similarity of the target to the distractor can have a significant impact on the interpretation of task performance.

The App is based on previously reported methods, for instance, the evaluation of articulation and pronunciation in speech, regularity and freezing of gait in walking, and tapping accuracy in hand movement. Preliminary experiments indicate that most of the measurements are suitable to discriminate patients and controls.

There have been many measurements of jet substructure at the LHC and previous colliders, but the targeted observables mix physical effects from various origins. Based on a recent proposal to factorize physical effects, this Letter presents a double-differential cross-section measurement of the Lund jet plane using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector using jets with transverse momentum above 675 GeV.

Since the first essentially complete eukaryotic proteome was reported, advances in mass-spectrometry-based proteomics have enabled increasingly comprehensive identification and quantification of the human proteome. However, there have been few comparisons across species, in stark contrast with genomics initiatives.

A total of 3,087 individuals from Latin American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and two cohorts from Colombia) were studied. In all cohorts, patients were classified as seropositive for T.

Structural and functional brain alterations are reflected in the protein composition of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients have higher CSF levels of tau, but we lack knowledge of systems-wide changes of CSF protein levels that accompany AD.

To investigate the mechanisms underlying this phenomenon, this study used an inducible HIV-1 transactivator of transcription (Tat) transgenic (iTat-tg) mouse model, which demonstrates brain-specific Tat expression induced by administration of doxycycline. We found that induction of Tat expression in the iTat-tg mice for either 7 or 14 days resulted in a decrease (∼30%) in the of [H]dopamine uptake via both the dopamine transporter (DAT) and norepinephrine transporter (NET) in the prefrontal cortex (PFC), which was comparable to the magnitude (∼35%) of the decrease in for [H]WIN 35,428 and [H]nisoxetine binding to DAT and NET, respectively.

We aimed to evaluate the vaginal colonization of lactobacilli orally administered to pregnant women at risk for preterm birth. We performed a randomized and controlled crossover study between January 2016 and May 2017.

Wood is one example of natural material which has properties tuned by its multi-scale hierarchical organization. The cellulose microfibril angle is critical for physical and mechanical properties of wood.

In the South Africa, there is inadequate evidence to guide appropriate national responses. This study explored the extent of access to modern sanitary products amongst female high school learners and the range of needs and challenges that they face in managing their menses in school settings in Gauteng, South Africa.

The choice of empiric antibiotic treatment is based on knowledge of the local susceptibility of urinary bacteria to antibiotics.

Genetic links to arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) are well-established. There is no current consensus on the importance of extensive exercise and exercise-induced injury to the RV.

The muons from heavy-flavor decay are separated from light-hadron decay muons using momentum imbalance between the tracking and muon spectrometers. The heavy-flavor decay muons are further separated into those from charm decay and those from bottom decay using the distance-of-closest-approach to the collision vertex.

By bypassing the diffraction limit of light, super-resolution microscopy opened up a new way to look at molecular details using light microscopy, producing large amounts of data with exquisite spatial detail. Statistical exploration of data usually needs initial classification, which is up to now often performed manually.

Surface-Mounted Metal-Organic Frameworks (SURMOFs) are promising materials with a wide range of applications and increasing interest in different technological fields. The use of SURMOFs as both the active and passive tail in electronic devices is one of the most exciting possibilities for such a hybrid material. In such a context, the adhesion, roughness, and crystallinity control of SURMOF thin films are challenging and have limited their application in new functional electronic devices.
